If the so called mod doesnt like my thread to be here, feel free to move but please tell me

here is the story if you guys havent sleep yet

me and my friend went to shops at shah alam, surveying for iphones. after searching, my friend agree to settle and buy with this shop (from now know as Shop F). After negotiating, my friend agreed to buy the so called NEW iPhone 3Gs with 1 year warranty at rm1500. but my friend need to pay deposit first. The FIRST receipt wrote iPhone 3Gs and I was the witness. The collection of the iPhone is at night because Shop F need to get the stock from other shop.

*At this point, I already told my friend to give me the serial number when he got the phone when buying so I can check*

So at night my friend bought the phone and didnt sms/call me about the serial number (I also didnt call or sms him because he is using new number as he bought the iPhone to replace his lost phone). After that, he flew off to Aussie.

(now my friend is already back in Malaysia). Just now, it just came to me that I want to check his phone SN, age of phone. To my surprise, it shows iPhone 3G and the production year is 2009. As I suspect, my friend got cheated.

but the bad thing now is the FIRST receipt had been given to Shop F and Shop F have given a new receipt that says iPhone only. The package that my friend bought didnt have the top cover of the box, only the below cover of box includes charger, cables, documentation.

-I know, my friend is a bit noob on these things and my fault didnt come to check when he bought the phone.

Advices?

*Tomorrow will go to police station and report first. If you guys got any more advice, do tell me. I will go as a witness.

1. When did your friend buy the phone?
2. Have to physically checked the phone to confirm its 3G and not 3GS?
3. You should go back to the shop first to threaten them especially the one that serve you.
4. Lastly then you can file a tribunals claim or make a report.

1. Should be around early December or late November. I cant remember, but should be in the receipt and my friend should knew
2. Check inside About in the settings, Model number shows MB instead of MC. Serial Number shows iPhone 3G in Apple website
3. Threaten first or report first?
4. Where to file a tribunal claim?

Go back and attack the shop first, you can include it in your report later (it will help if the shop denies and you have the receipt and prove)

I would first talk to the shop and get a refund. Ask them to clarify what model is on your receipt since no details there.

You can go to http://ttpm.kpdnkk.gov.my/portal/index.php...w&id=13&lang=en to lodge a complaint but I have no idea on the enforcement effectiveness. Not sure also whether the police will seriously entertain your complaint.

No polices ever interested in our complaints, but they will still lodge the report since it is a fraud.

hard to say, but you dont have any proof with u now. U can see cases here, even with IC number, address, the scammer still have a free life blush.gif

But, maybe u can expose the shop information so that we can prevent at least LYN customer to there.

Anyway, good luck guys.

P/S : And btw, this thread is not belong here, should go to Trade Zone Resource Center.

Open a case in tribunal court.

Better if you reported to police. Bring the police report along to tribunal court.
