I fold with my i5 760 at 2.x... (I put 160 bclk and allow turbo and speedstep to run)
if I put 100% it pushes the proc to 3.5 full time..and I think that is counter productive of me allowing speedstep |

QUOTE(zzzz52 @ Jan 17 2011, 01:23 PM) I have tried to overclock my i5-2500K using Asus P8P67. I set the Vcore in the bios to auto and offset + mode. I set the BcLK = 100MHz, multiplier = 45x. normally when loaded the vcore drop (vdroop)So during idle, I'm getting around vcore 0.9v. Running Prime95, I'm getting around 1.34v. I tried to lower the vcore in the asus AI suite to 1.15v. Using this setting, i was getting Vcore reading from CPU-z and asus probe to be 1.25V. Idle = 0.87v. If i were to set Vcore in the bios to 1.25V, the Vcore reading with CPU-z and asus probe will be always 1.24v during idle and load. Just wanted to check with you guys, are you seeing the same thing. Meaning if you set manually the vcore, the vcore will just stay the same regardless of idle or load? Thanks. why it increase? with LLC it will stay "nearly" the same |

QUOTE(lchee @ Jan 20 2011, 05:26 PM) When i go to my computer icon, right click and select properties, i see my computer system properties. Processor speed it states 2. One 3.3GHz, the other 5.8GHz. Why is this so? Is this common to all i2500K that overclock? I did install core temp to monitor CPU usage and temperature. When running Unigene, I notice the clock ranges from 1566 MHz to 4498MHz (I set OC to 4.5GHz), and sometimes even hit 5800MHz (though for a short few seconds). CPU highest temp recorded was 51°C. Is this normal? you need CPU-Z |

QUOTE(monsh @ Feb 20 2011, 04:29 PM) haha currently for most tasks even a Q9xxx would be sufficient... I think for someone who generates money it'd be no problem man . for a student like me, its a pain in the neck . most probably won't migrate anymore for the next 1 year at least . too much money spent on hardwares . most probably i'll get 2nd gtx560 and do surround . dat's d most anyway, i'll still play with my fren's SB . thanks for the proc owikh . will test them out tomorrow hopefully |

off turbo pls. I have speedstep on in my 1156. But if you r trying to overclock, off it. Only on speedstep if you need to and you are running at 100% stable 24/7.

based on this article, on LLC will stress the CPU more... I use it full time.. will my system die immaturely eventhough I stay below max voltage? |
