I just overclocked my i5 2500K to 4.5GHz using some internet posted settings. It works easily. My first attempt in overclocking after using PC for more than 10 years. It was surprisingly easy. I get like additional 1.2GHz... wow... Now, how do I benchmark my PC? Is there a standard software ppl use to benchmark their PC scores?

Hi stasio, What gadget you use that will display all your computer info such as core temperature, ram timings, processor clock speed etc?? Can you provide link to download the gadget please? Thanks.

When i go to my computer icon, right click and select properties, i see my computer system properties. Processor speed it states 2. One 3.3GHz, the other 5.8GHz. Why is this so? Is this common to all i2500K that overclock? I did install core temp to monitor CPU usage and temperature. When running Unigene, I notice the clock ranges from 1566 MHz to 4498MHz (I set OC to 4.5GHz), and sometimes even hit 5800MHz (though for a short few seconds). CPU highest temp recorded was 51°C. Is this normal?

Very easy steps, just as follow:

Overclock a Core i5-2500K to 4.5GHz
1. Enter the BIOS by pressing Delete as the PC starts
2. Enter the Advanced menu by clicking the button in the top-right corner
3. Set the CPU multiplier to 45x
4. Enable Load-Line Calibration
5. Set the CPU voltage to 1.3-1.35V
6. Set the CPU PLL to 1.9V
7. Set the VCCSA to 1.1V
8. Set the VCCIO to 1.106V
9. Hit F10 to save and restart

I am using Asus P8P67 Deluxe.

If I just wanna run a benchmark to test my processor OC, which is the best benchmark tool to run? The standard benchmar score for system performance? Any recommendation? Wanna know how hot my processor will get when stressed. Already knew my GPU went up to 94°C in furmark. Now processor turn.

For Asus users, I installed the Asus AI suite. Every time window load, the asus AI suite will be at the system tray icon. I tried going to msconfig but could not locate any Asus start up programme there. How to disable ASUS AI suite to load at system tray during windows start up?
