noted. so any advantages on deluxe 16+2 phase vs. 12+2 phase?
is 16 cpu + 2 mem phase overkill? enuf with 12 to get atleast 5.0Ghz Oc? |

QUOTE(owikh84 @ Feb 15 2011, 06:45 AM) I hv problem with my raid0 X25-M on M4E, can't build raid0 on the Intel SATA3 ports. The raid manager cant recognize my SSD on port0. yeah thinking the same way....thanks owikh... Marvell SATA3 is the option but I need to re-create raid and hence lost the data. So to avoid data lost, create a GHOST image of the raid0 (and save the image on other drive/partition) before switching to SATA3 using Norton GHOST or Acronis Backup & Restore. Swap to SATA3, create raid0 then restore the image. |

ok guys this might be noob Question...i have a thought....i want to get
8GB Ram but which setup is better and much more stability interm of OC'ing... (4GBx2pc) or (2GBx4pc).... OR izzit overrated? just use 4GB (2GBx2pc)? using win7 64bit and targeted to buy 1600 Mhz or 1800 MHz the reason why i'm asking this...because each DDR3 channel is 64bit..so if use 2 pair just utilise 128bit...if slot-in all 4 become 256bit Dual-Channel RAM? So Owikh, Cstkl and Stasio , sifu & tailor please guide me....it bother me quite sometimes now...since most of u guys setup is just 4GB config.... anybody? QUOTE(owikh84 @ Feb 23 2011, 07:14 AM) dual channel is 128-bit, 4 sticks are still 4 channel hence the bus is still 128-bit. ok thanks for the advice owikh....now u start to poison me 4GBx2 is easier to clock coz populated dram slot (2GBx4) would need more vdimm, vtt and/or loosen timing ie. CL8 to CL9 etc.. Like my GSkill RipjawsX, 2GBx4 needed above 1.7v vdimm, higher vtt for 32M benchable. unless if loosen timing then only u can tame the voltages. U might consider Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz 4GBx2 1600 8-8-8-24 in scenario, if i take XMS3 C7...so mean i can loosen to C9 to compensate higher vdimm and OC to 1800 or above? u guys really make me tempted to play with higher frequency RAM because easily u can get LinkX above 54 GFlops even 80++ and i manage to get only 45Gflops..and lower PI... ok this sounda childish, currently im using Corsair Value 1333 4GBx2pc (CMV4GX3M1A1333C9) and tried to get 1600 |

QUOTE(cstkl1 @ Feb 23 2011, 06:17 PM) Lol farny alright, noted..bout dual channel am just not too sure interm of 64bits per/banks...thanks cstkl for clearing that up 4sticks are dual channel. And increase in vdimm is because of loss of vdimm in traceline and hence inconsistent termination voltage emm quick question...do i need more than 4GB? IF most of the time purposely for gaming and adobe CS3 and abit of benchmark? izzit 8GB such a waste? thanks in advance guys This post has been edited by PenzoilGuy: Feb 24 2011, 05:02 AM |

QUOTE(owikh84 @ Feb 24 2011, 03:52 PM) Make sure that ur windows is x64 (64bit), if not the x86 32bit windows will recognize as 3GB only yep im on win7 64bit...8GB then 4GB should be enough for those purposes, but it wont hurt if u hv 8GB. Burst speed. 8GB is not a waste. Hardcore photoshoper should go for 8GB, if u noticed the mem usage is increasing during photoshoping. Adobe engineer recommends mem usage not exceeding 70%. Gaming, nowadays mostly will utilize up to 1.5GB only, the only game that i encountered consumes more than 2GB is Crysis. 3GB kit confirmed crash. p/s: maybe i have spare pocket monies This post has been edited by PenzoilGuy: Feb 24 2011, 08:16 PM |
