Safe as in the heat level is still very low.. actually safe voltage for SB up to 1.55v. But i don't think air cooler is able to do handle if not running in an aircond room. around 4.0GHz most SB could use stock voltage @ 1.25v; 4.5GHz at 1.35-1.4v. but then again don't forget the vdroop effect. QUOTE(DesktopLimousine @ Jul 31 2011, 10:11 PM) for Asus EZ mode in Bios setting, should i choose power saving mode, normal mode, or Asus optimal mode for overclocking? normal mode should be fine. pls refer to Asus P67/Z68 OC Guide for more OC tips. mobo specific question sometimes hard to answer here.

hehe nvm, btw thx i'll post the best and stable vcore i can get for 4.5Ghz Added on August 1, 2011, 4:49 amshould i set the VRM frequency to manual in asus bios setting? Added on August 1, 2011, 6:45 amhmmm my current speed is at 4.5Ghz at 1.29V now, and it is stable with IBT and Linx test.. last time i am able to stable it at 1.25V with Linx, but i try to download IBT and try to stress with it. it become un-stable and need to change the vcore to 1.29v This post has been edited by DesktopLimousine: Aug 1 2011, 06:45 AM

im also using air-cooling coolermaster v6gt heatsink but i dont know what problem is this, using Linx my voltage 1.25v is stable, but when im using IBT it's not stable and need to increase voltage..

He/she will fail the work unit but no BSOD. This means unstable setting generally. 1.29v+-0.005 is my i7 4.5ghz favor voltage for 24/7 brutally stress. (100% loaded in 8 threads 24/7 )

I trying 5GHz 1.45v, but my clock speed drop to 3.5GHz in cpu-z during stress test, any reason? The vcore show remain 1.45+ in cpuz.
