We normally just ride around out house area and would want to start doing more biking in parks for sight seeing.

i still have my 2001 jamis durango sport and she rides fine! they are company that puts the money in the frame so you can spend the rest on upgrades. while the durango has been superceeded by an Anthem for trail duties it still does sterling work, commuting and rolling down to the shops for milk. so yes, go for it!Me and my gf wanted to get a bike for normal riding and some outings.
