Patriots Day
Another decent based-on-true-event movie collab between Berg and Wahlberg. Pretty intense at times and the message is strong.

Monster Truck
Almost unbearable to watch. Definitely made for kids only. I'm all for fun brainless action flick but this is no fun at all for me.

Split
Pretty interesting but I need a second viewing. A slow burner + midnight show put me well to sleep at times.

Well, I kinda liked The Visit. Its not great but a decent comeback from Shaymalan after years of flopping. This one is better one from him but its a thriller-ish compare to The Visit which is kinda horror-ish.

I like Sing Street better than La La Land. Its more straight forward and enjoyable. Probably because there's not much artistic bone in me

Hell or High Water

Finally manage to watch this after months and months of procrastination. Great movie with terrific acting and compelling story and directing. A big two middle finger to big corporate who prey on those poor innocent people. Everyone is doing a great job in this with special shout out to Ben Foster. Is this the same person who played wizard or something in Warcraft? Mann, a turn around. Good for him! Recommended to watch for to fan of good old western movies or great movie in general

Glad to know someone share same sentiment. I thought almost every person on earth fall head over heels on this movie. Good movie? Yeah. Perfect movie? Get out of here!

Moonlight
Another rave up movie bored me to death. Not sure what is so good about this movie. Maybe because its too artistic for me? or probably because my skepticism on gay in general that makes me lost interest and can't wait for the movie to end.

Fences
Good movie, great performance. Not really interested at story line but still got me hooked probably because of the fantastic acting. Super fast non-stop talking in the beginning almost put me off.

Manchester By The Sea
At first I thought this movie is about the one in the UK, haha. Super depressing movie, with everything depressing on high setting, score, theme, color and especially the main actor face. And its super slow pace also but everything else is great. Terrific acting, nice dialogue, and the characters I can relate to. Its like enjoying a nice slow ride on a road by the valley. Never felt boring due to interesting characters and neat dialogue. Love the movie.

Edge of Seventeen
I never knew they still make a good teen movie nowadays. Enjoyed this movie a lot. Again, another terrific performance with nice and neat script and dialogue. Really funny at times too. I love the interactions and banter between main girl and her teacher played by Woody Harrelson. Neat stuff. But the ending is a bit cringy for me after all time the movie being uncringeworthy. But I guess that just how the thing is, its not really that I have any idea to end the movie in another way. Liked this one the most among all the bunch I watched.

LIFE was pretty entertaining, put me on the edge of my seat at times. Man, that plot twist at the end can be seen miles away haha.

Boss Baby
A no brainer mindless fun animation. This movie probably mostly aimed for the kids but with some adult jokes as well. It is super ridiculous and didn't make any sense whatsoever but still entertaining. The crowd I'm with seems to have a good time with the movie, kids and adults alike.

Smurfs : The Lost Village
Movies made for the kiddies. And since I'm kinda kiddie at heart I also kinda enjoyed it. Full of lame and stupid slapstick jokes that will tickle say a 5 year old. But it doesn't felt boring to me and also the visual is quite pretty and amazing especially there's one part at the river scene. Really beautiful. My sister and her friends which is I would say an adult teen teared a bit during a scene at the end of the movie. If you have some time and money to waste, and don't know what to watch can give it a try.

Koe no Katachi
Really anticipated this since hearing the buzz of how good it is and end up quite disappointed. I guess I have an average Malaysian taste. The movie moves really slow and I can't quite relate to any characters, thus not really felt anything when the emotional part kicks in which I heard many shed tears. I never read the manga and heard that it much more than just a simple romance relationship. Animation is good and vibrant enough. I like Your Name much more than this in term of characters, story and animation.
