RED [2010]
ok pedestrian fluff but wouldn't watch it again. funny how helen mirren is so much hotter than Mary-Louise Parker especially in that stunning white gown and thinks karl urban is uber suave effin badass.
5/10 ..meh

The Owls of Ga'Hoole [2010]
typical hero's journey story with OWLS but wow i'm pretty impressed with the cgi even more so than frigin avatar. extra points for using the dead can dance song in that triumphant scene. what i don't like: the shitty pop song during the montage and the end credits. its an oz production nick cave n warren ellis not available?!! tongue.gif
7/10 this one i'll definitely revisit...soon

Faster - coulda been a Statham flick and i must agree the opening intro is badass. 5/10
alternative: lee marvin's point blank or mel gibson's payback

Let Me in - the shithead bully looks awfully like jgl @ tommy 8/10
alternative: tony scott's the hunger

man from nowhere [korean, 2011] - yes i do agree the knife fight scene is pretty impressive i reckon right up there with SPL and hunted and how the scene ended, is both original and mind blowing. there's also an awesome one take scene that made me go how the fark did they do it?!!! in my book, the koreans reign in the entertainment superiority department. beware, it's violent til no end.
what's next?
mother
i saw the devil [anticipating for its proper release]
poetry [Lee Chang-dong]
the housemaid

The Big Lebowski [1998]
it supposed to be a comedy. its OK at few times, but im not really enjoy it.

try watching 'raising arizona' follow with FARGO and probably they would shed some light on how you see BL.

The Silence of the Lambs [1991]
watched it in my teen days, and im really appreciate it this time. Anthony Hopkins was awesome.
shame the sequels /prequel are totally disappointing.
manhunter is THE prequel and hannibal is a tad underrated. i think Julianne Moore fits the more mature fbi Clarice

Season of the Witch - nik cage in catatonic state. tedious

green hornet - i like it. as usual Michel Gondry quirks the shit out of this flick. this dude has set a new standard for how split screen is implemented. the hardest button to button anyone?!!!

The Man From Nowhere. Another Korean revenge flick. Good first half but last hour becomes a dumb action movie with over-sentimental moments.

did u watch most of the movies on your laptop? recently rewatch stray dog on a 44incher. felt that the magic has kinda gone since not long ago had the privilege to watch on 35mm.

A Chinese Ghost Story (2011)

Leslie Cheung did the "ingenue" role well laugh.gif and Joey Wang was drop dead gorgeous in that movie.

when i was a kid, she was the epitome of beauty. how was A Chinese Ghost Story (2011) compare with The White Dragon (2004) another period piece directed by wilson yip in terms of enjoyment factor?

gave up watching the andy lau/gongli vehicle, what women want after 10 mins not because its rubbish. i know it is but i'm a huge fans of the two icons. the reason being both of their voices were dub. in mandarin it was andy's and canto, gongli's. these joint hk/china ventures are the shites

Reflections in a Golden Eye (1967) - filmed in golden hue, it has an impotent sexual repressed brando, robert forrester nude hoseback riding, gay phillipino houseboy and liz taylor's sex appeal oozes out of the screen what a woman!!!!! there's a scene which inspired the now classic deniro's "YOU TALKING TO ME?!!!" taxi driver

MF, i saw blake camwhorin pix..nice did she manage to steam up the flick ala scarlett johansson in ironman2?

camp value wise, is this better than superman3?

entertainment wise, is this better than green hornet? (plus point: gondry, jay chou, sweet ass made in taiwan hornetmobile)

from your opinion of what the flick got right, looks like a certified green turd.

The Lincoln Lawyer.

Entertaining while it lasts, but forgettable after. In fact, entertaining up until the finale, which is far-fetched, uninspired, dull.

matthew mcconaughey is so entertaining playin a slezebag lawyer, i feel like watching his typical shitty romantic comedies. recommend me some? i was lured into this after listening to the soundtrack. what does ghetto have to do with the mcconaughey?!!!

ah sucker punch...took me three sittings to get through the movie

first the not so shit:
the always bangable carla gugino not only put on a silly russian accent but sings in it too
the first scene at the rehearsal room...drool
the babes' outfit...drool probably for the first five minutes then figured out they're just mannequins.
baby doll's lips
sweet pea's dress at the bus station
token asian's cleavage
blondie's sweet behind

turd territory:
definitely the godawful soundtrack minus the bjork song. a girllified version of search and destroy?!!! come the fark on.

charisma wormhole scott glenn?!!! i'm know david carradine is dead. can't u get someone like say william fichtner (the badass bank manager in dark 'meh' knight) or Sam Elliott (love to see him in a japanese sensei outfit)

the boring "come on bro ten more minutes i'll finish this stage the end cut scenes are mind blowing effin awesome" action scenes

a low 4/10

on par with fast five
3/10 - rio
5/10 - kungfu panda 2
7/10 - super 8
8/10 - xmen first class; rango

Centurion - a solid lean mean 90+ mins action chase flick. it stars michael fassbinder, a huge plus and Neil Marshall is officially my go-to genre director.

Danny McBride is stellar as Thadeous and i reckon he n natalie portman's sweet sweet ass are the best thing in this flick. the hand in mustard manifest into monster scene is pretty creative. zooey deschanel earned the "talk about a shitty role" title, nice cleavage though. i say this flick is vulgar BUT NOT vulgar enough. disappointing la

And you know what the strange thing is, you really cannot pin point where the problem lies...

The story was okay

The Main lead is... okay

The main chick is pretty...

As you had said the back drop is drop dead gorgeous...

I will say this though, having a Southern Colonel (Stephen Lang) as the big bad baddie in the Hyboria age was just... off (unlike James Earl Jones, there is just something about the English accent that spells E.V.I.L.)

Pity, I really wouldn't mind a good barbarian movie...
*
yeah nothing here clicks. the lead is bland as f*** and i seriously wished he could bring what the ROCK brought to the scorpion king.

rachel nichol..sigh...not yet there and I wonder why her previous outing, P2 was kinda watchable...o yeah the outfit and her you know.

villain with a tortured soul?!!!!

wtf is GRACE JONES?!!!!!

Sometimes a movie that is average across the board can be worse than a movie is severely uneven. Heck, I sometimes prefer a movie that is utterly bad to a movie that is utterly average because with the former at least it provokes a reaction out of you.

In Bruges. Must have watched this 4 or 5 times now, and it's pretty rapidly shooting up my list of favourite movies ever. Pitch perfect black comedy with brilliant performances from Gleeson, Fiennes, and Colin Farrell, who I've always maintained is a fantastic actor. The movie has some unbelievable dialogue and the sense of location, so often missing in many other movies, is in every frame here. f***ing funny to f***ing boot as well.

Kung Fu Panda 2. Surprised by how good this is... and John Powell's score kicked ass.

Snowtown. What an effective movie about Australia's worst serial killer. It is also extremely disgusting and disturbing to watch. It is crass and lacks a certain class that other better movies have, like that other Australian crime movie from 2010 called Animal Kingdom.

kungfu panda 2 was laborious to me
gonna put in bruges, the guard, and snowtown in my que
