9/10 - Definitely a must watch and definitely one of the best movies in 2011 (and its still early in the year). Superb acting by Natalie Portman and superb portrayal by both herself and the movie itself.
2. The Fighter
8/10 - This movie definitely felt real. Nothing was over the top. Christian Bale was really good in this. Look at all the muscle he lost. haha... Marky Mark, though one of my favourite actors (he's not great, but he's okay) still gave his usual 'average' performance.
3. The Kings Speech
8/10 - Brilliantly told story. Well-paced. Not for those who doesnt enjoy long scripts and dialogues. Witty and serious at the same time. Who knew a movie about a stuttering king could be so good.
4. Fight Club (yes, i know, i slowpoke)
8/10 - Superb movie. It is fun in its own way. Slightly Mindf*ck. Great plot development. great acting. enjoyed every minute of it.
5. Youth in Revolt
7/10 - Your typical indie teenager movie. Michael Cera has become somewhat of an indie icon. With his usual role as a dork-ish guy in love with a pretty girl and goes thru shit trying to win her heart. A good and fun watch (if indie is ur thing).
6. Date Night
6/10 - pretty sub-par and farfetched storyline. Tina Fey was great but Steve Carrell was kinda annoying. enjoyed this movie but didnt really laugh my ass off.
7. Brothers
7/10 - A sad, depressing and overwhelming movie. The emotion when Tobey Maguire got back from his ordeal was overwhelming. The mistrust, the depression, the hurt. Phew.
8. Hot Tub Time Machine
6/10 - Only worth for a good and mindless laugh. But Good laugh nonetheless.
9. Exam
6/10 - Could have been smarter and better in its presentation, but failed to deliver the killer twist.
10. Dead Poets Society
7.5/10 - It was great how the story tried and succeed in developing each character to a certain extent. It ticked all the boxes in the emotion department. Great movie, definitely.
