Conspiracy Theory (1997)

Wow, I am on a "R" binge!! laugh.gif

Again, a blast from the past and one I also like very much

Julia Roberts was at her peak. Mel Gibson before he is hated!! And Patrick Stewart... before he was Professor X!! tongue.gif

I have missed Richard Donner. John Schwartzman cinematography was great, Kevin Stitt & Frank J. Urioste edit were spot on and Carter Burwell score was lots of fun!!

Imagine Looney Tunes meets Alfred Hitchcock! That pretty much sums up this movie for me!! laugh.gif

If you have not watched this before, do yourself a favour and watch it!!

You know why I'm singing this when you watch the movie. Enjoy

I didn't get what does the entire story means... but I do enjoy Richard Donner's Assassins (1995) starring Sylvester Stallone & Antonio Banderas, a good action thriller film from producer joel silver as well...!

Just re-watch Con Air (1997) yesterday night!
It was almost 7 years after my last watched, and still the film is as awesome as it does.
Welcome to Con Air..... said the lunatic prisoner "Cyrus the Virus" played by John Malkovich when they succeeded seized control the plane.
Well, Nicolas Cage delivers an excellent performance as always, so does the owner of the jailbird plane John Cusack. This movie will keep you entertained from start to finish, so you better hold on to your seats!
As long as you saw Jerry Bruckheimer films, vehicles chases on the streets wouldn't be less...
Recommended 7/10

Kiss the Girls (1997)

I miss movies like this.

Decent storyline (Mystery/Thriller).

Good cast (Morgan Freeman, Ashley Judd & Cary Elwes).

And the film is well executed!!

If you are into sick serial killer, this movie is for you!

I would have to say Ashley Judd probably looked her best here!!

If that is not motivation enough to watch this movie, I don't know what will!! laugh.gif

My Two Sen.

Morgan Freeman portrayed Alex Cross in the film... the other one is in Along Came a Spider (2001), nice character!
Somehow, it reminds me of High Crimes (2002) where the 2, Freeman & Judd teams up again in this crime film.

Just re-watched Ronin (1998) on dvd yesterday night.
A decent car chase action film you'll probably wants to check out again & again!!!
The main casting was Robert De Niro & Jean Reno (the guy in The Professional) who needs to trust each other after they being set up on a task to retrieve a silver case.
Nevertheless, the villain was portrayed by Jonathan Pryce (the roles he usually does like in Tomorrow Never Dies) who seems to be the vicious one behind the incident.
Overall, I recommended 6.5/10

Cast Away (2000)
A great performance from Tom Hanks, from character to nature of beauty, and the will to survive. Liked it~

Sin City 2 : A dame to kill for - A dame too lame.
Frank Miller's Sin City was groundbreaking back in the days for a breath of fresh air. Comic books need not about super beings in cape and cowl. Nowadays we have better writers dabbing in the funny book medium with really high quality tales that out pace the golden era of Frank Miller. Mark Millar does his high concept blockbuster pitch, Ed Brubaker with his "noirish" complex writing, Brian K.Vaughan keen sense of sci-fi genre, Joe Hill the son of Stephen King for his smart horror genre, Andy Diggle does his hollywood-esque action movie tales, etc...
For what it's worth, I really like the first Sin City movie. It compiles the 3 seminal story arcs from Sin City series. The sequel adapts ADTKF which was the earlier arcs that started the whole Sin City books and 2 new story arcs. Man this movie suck balls to the core with lazy filmmaking that does not innovate upon source material and all those corny action sequences is off putting to say the least. The dialogs became self-parody and there's no compelling reason for the 3 stories to interweave with each other. Saving grace again is on Eva Green but then the script is a total train wreck.

No Escape (1994)

"Don't ever turn your back on me again" a tagline that spinning in my mind after watching this film...
The film stars Ray Liotta, he is great in doing action in the film although he's not categorized in the action genre stars, but I found him can be described as the second Van Damme since I saw this action plus sci-fi film that will keeps you on the seats!

Recommended 6/10, if you're a 90's action film fans, or give a try on Ray Liotta performance throughout this film

John Wick (2014)

There is something very old school about this movie.

And I don't mean 1980s old school, further back then that. Back to when Warner Brothers were churning out a lot of Gangster movies...

I don't know why, the feeling of this movie is a throw back to that period... Gangster/Film Noir-ishness.

And IT IS GREAT!!!!

AS of yesterday, I have watched 3 moths in the past three weeks and all three movies are GREAT!!!

Okay, back to this movie, how throw back is this movie, if this movie was a silent movie, the context of the movie would still have been CLEAR!!!

Don't get me wrong, when I say old school does it mean this movie is not violent, Far from it!!

There aren't any good guys here!

There are just people with/without code of conduct!!!

Go watch this.

I cannot emphasize this move, GO WATCH THIS!!

Hobo with a Shotgun (2011)

Initially released as fake trailer, the movie appear in 2011. Rutger Hauer delivered his character well in the film, a homeless man with nothing to loose.

Some moments are a bit funny, a brutal & violence film

Quite entertaining, but not for everyone 6/10
