With all due respect, I cannot help but laugh at this situation.. *clears throat* Okay, jokes aside. Did she apply enough pressure, even a slight pressure on the screen? And how much pressure did you apply to make it work? I'm personally using a matte screen protector (Cygnett) and I barely have to touch the iPad for it to respond.

i have no problem with the screen even though i have a protective screen cover too. it's not whether she applied pressure, cause the ipad is not pressure-sensitive, but conductive - any part of your skin touching it will have an effect.....unless your gf is a ghost , or she has very long fingernails. i have heard some ppl say that different ppl's skin have different levels of conductivity.....but not sure whether there's any scientific proof.

Maybe her finger not good interm of conducting electricity, becoz ipad screen is capasitive not resistive.

most women have a long nail including my gf. Normally women have a long nail have a hard time to get to use with this touch screen. Cut her nail. Otherwise, your gf might be a ghost. Hehe..

It's capacitive touch u need apply some light pressure on it. Finger nails won't work.u need get csl unit for that

iPad uses capacitive touch like what many have mentioned here. Basically it is zero-pressure required and works with human body that acts like a conductor. So, there's no point applying pressure on the screen with nails.

Ask your gf to touch open wire, if she still ok then confirm la your gf is non conductive. Superwoman maybe. Hehehehe.

Even she got long fingernail its ok; Solution A: Stylus Pen (any type one as long won't scratch your protective screen, try the pen before purchase one) Solution B: Cut her fingernail, LoL (not sure she want or not) Solution C: Change iPad to Galaxy Tab (hahaha) That's all " Wink "

i have no problem with the touching anywhere of the screen. lol of course, a capacitive touch only works when you point with finger, not the nail. I keep my finger nails short for that purpose. hope that helps.

I'm a girl and I have no problem with touching the ipad screen too! That's so strange, maybe you can ask other female friends to try it?

Dear TS, Kinda funny though. lol! I brought an ipad for my wife, so far it's work fine for her (eventhough its under utilised, all the while were left aside.. not use)
Technically, (correct me). ipad touch screen based on capacitive-type, human body mainly act as conductor, touching screen will cause electrostatic distubance hence signaling/triggered the point
I dunno if she 'ESD/anti-static' protected.. but normally can la, try simulate & see.

Touch it dude, touch it. Not poke it with fingernail. I bet its the fingernail's problem coz girls tend to have long nails.
