since the launching of SC2, many brood war players have issues (not complaining, just........have issues lol) SC2 being too easy, strategy > mechanic in most of the time.
1st was unlimited unit control grouping,
then patch 1.1 was the in game clock further noobifying the game,
and now patch 1.2 with customizable hotkey?
discuss.
for me..................i couldnt imagine watching korean pro gamers using QWERT,ASDFG for hotkeys.....omg, just.........disgusting. then now since diff players have diff hotkeys, how to determine who is better? but eventually, the korean pros will come out with 1 most-optimal-imba-hotkey-setup and everyone will use it and blizzard will get trolled in the face.
however, further noobifying the game assures more nerds flooding in this field, unlike broodwar era.....Blizzard will like this, during BW, its all about koreans; now blizzard can sell this game to more ppl. the sales record for SC2 says it all. blizzard want SC2 to go this way.

Custom hotkey make way too easy for the game! We don't need to keep on practice to get a hold on those hotkeys again, sounds stupid to me.

Didn't really have problem with that. If it can make the game easier then why not?
People say they miss the old type of stove which use coal to cook and say the foods are tastier, but nowadays they can't live without gas stove.
And I don't want to go collect water from well every 2 hours. I want to have water pouring out when I turn the water knob.
Admit it, human are making so many machines and inventions because they are getting lazier and lazier.

I have no problems with customisable hotkeys. I can't even imagine playing with changed hotkeys. After a few games, u get used to the old hotkeys anyway, so I don't really think it changes much of the game, except maybe a little better micro.
But, if you're good enough to micro your units anyway, you're good enough to remember hotkeys

i agree that it shouldn't be too easy. i was fine with the game how it is right now and I'd still play it for a long long long time if there were no more new updates (besides the expansions of course).

elitist sc gamers can go shove it up your bumhole. THIS IS GOOD! More people will play starcraft and you'll be able to find more number of opponents. More opponents = varied strategies, skillsets. More people = more support for e-sports, more tourneys, better sponsorship = better prizes. Only good things can come out of this and it's dumb to just consider about "noobifying".

well, after all its the 80% non-diamonds who are funding blizzard. if im blizzard i will do so too. actually my point wasnt meant for hotkey only. the in game timer is kinda stupid also -.- but the unlimited selection of unit DID improved the game quality besides making the game easy. (unlike the 1st 2 which i doubt it will help at all among top tier players)

hmm...it would be a chaotic world since every1 already get used to the original hotkey... go cc need set again?? tat is so troublesome...
anyway this patch is not really useful as the current hotkey is already optimized for full left hand control...such as probe change from P, muta changed from M, overlord etc etc.

Dont see whats wrong with it, as im already using the built in grid hot keys which is so much easier than any other system.
