If I buy Cataclysm digitally from the official wow website, as it seems to be a cheaper option, how big (in gb) will the download be?

I think it's more like 4gb (one dvd can't fit 25gb anyway).

But there's a patch after u install Cata to bring you up to actual version, so give or take total you need to download maybe around 5-6gb.

if you download wow client from battle.net, initial download is about 4gb, once it installs, the launcher will update itself.

when you have finished updating everything the total size in our hard disk is 25gb

well maybe when downloading, the files are compressed.

if you are already playing wow now (with WOLTK) , and when you buy cata, you just need to download around 800mb worth of file only

AND REMEMBER THIS:

if you ever buy the box version, DO NOT FREAKING INSTALL THE CD. DO NOT. or you will really have to download few gb worth of file!!!!

just key in the cd key at the battlenet website, and download the latest patch. the box set CD is useless for now, you only need to CD Key and the CD is just for future reinstall

Eh really? I didn't know that... I was on patch 4.0.3, then I install Cata from CD... Then after that download near 1gb

You mean to say patch 4.0.3 itself even without Cata key, already has all the new zone content (eg. Vashjir) ?
