Each new top up will extent your credit validity 12 months from the date of last top up. However your main line must also be active in order to use Nitetone.

*
The charging policy is the same as all mainstream telcos in the market.
If no connection, no charge.
If call goes to the voice mail, got charge.
If the person you are calling diverted your call to another phone and does not answer the second leg phone, got charge. You may not realise that your call had been answered by the phone exchange in order to reroute to another phone number. Since you only hear toot-toot... toot-toot and no one answer, you may mistaken this is an unanswered call.

For off net call, if call goes to voice mail, New hotlink plan charge you 18sen(30second block), Digi 18sen(30 second block), Xpax 38sen(60 seconds block), Nitetone 12sen(off peak) and 15sen(peak) (60 seconds block)

You have two options
1)To present your phone number. CLIP (calling line identification presentation). (default activation)

or

2)Private number. CLIR (Calling Line Identification Restriction)

You must let me know which option you want during the 1st time activation. If you opted for CLIP at 1st activation, all your future calls will be CLIP by default.

All mobile and fixed line networks in Malaysia can be reloaded by Nitetone.

It works like any other prepaid. Pay RM10 online > topup> make call, simple as that.

Two options of calling:

Option 1: Calling directly from your phone contacts list.
1) To call, go to phone contacts and press the call button like you used to do. (After you have done the first time only settings as below.)*

*One time setting :
Go to your phone book/phone contacts, edit and add “1800112860p” without the quote in front of your existing phone contact number and save it. (Do this once only for future use).
Example 1800112860p0123456789
user posted image
Note: To type “p”, press * three times.

Option 2: Calling phone number not listed in your phone contacts.
1) Dial Nitetone toll free gateway 1800112860 .
2) Enter destination phone number.

To top up, please pay to user posted image minimum RM10 then notify payment and phone number to top up by sms to OI2*3I7O338. Customer usually will receive sms top up notification 15 minutes after payment confirmation.

Just tested the Nitetone service this week
The result is HUGE savings compared to my current Celcom Xpax plan

Example for calls to other telco
Celcom SEDUT more than RM1.40++ for 1 min call sweat.gif
where Nitetone only charge for 15 sen for 1 min which is super CHEAP drool.gif

Thanks for this service
Now no need to always update my 8pax list just to get cheap rate

HIGHLY recommended thumbup.gif

I can only say officially is 6 months as printed on the physical card but unofficially I know it can valid for 12 months. BTW a zero credit prepaid line with access validity can still call Nitetone's gateway 1800112860 to make an outgoing call using nitetone airtime.

Depending on your telco's sms plan. If you register as favorite or active or family number, the sms cost is 1sen, some got free sms bundled. We have Digi, celcom and maxis gateways to choose from.

No It work this way. The RM100 stored value is an electronic money (e-Account) in which you can use it to buy RM10 Nitetone airtime at RM8.80 (12% rebates) e-account credit. You can also use e-Account credit to buy Hotlink, Xpax, iTalk etc etc at discounted price. Please click the link for more info about REDtone e-Account. http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=304800&hl=

When you purchase RM10 Nitetone airtime and pay only RM8.80, your domestic and international call rates should be effectively 12% lower as well.

Just 2 sen increased only but still >50% cheaper than standard prepaid rates. Still a cheaper alternative to extent your activ10, Friends and Family™, 15pax, Teman20, etc etc to unlimited phone numbers.

You have forgotten you got 12% off Nitetone purchase from your member e-account !! So your call rate mobile to mobile effectively is 15sen.

Your REDtone e-Account can also buy iTalk with 8% discount. rclxms.gif

But I want to warn you that effective from 20th November 2010, RM10 iTalk has 20days validity only and if you have unfinished balance after 20days, you must top up RM10 italk again in order to use the balance credit. If you don't top up, it will be forfeited in 90 day. Further more iTalk will also adjust the call rates sooner or later due to cost increased.
user posted image

Nitetone has no validity restriction, it can be used for 6 months officially but unofficially I know it can be used for 12 months. So Nitetone still better than italk.

The most notable advantage of Nitetone is that you can use your mobile to call Nitetone tollfree gateways 1800112860 F.O.C. Please do a test call then check your prepaid balance.
The rates for calling from fixed line phone or mobile phone are the same. You can enjoy greater convenient and mobility at fixed line call rates.

Thanks!
Successfully called US.
Quality was good. It was clear.

Thanks. I will definitely buy again.
The rates are so low.
I purchased rm10 only but I talked for 30mins and it was still running.
THanks once again!

Review;

It was really easy.
Just have to add those few digits in front of the existing number and voila.
As simple as ABC. Haha.
If you're calling overseas just remember to add 00 after p and before the phone number.
I found it out the hardway last night cause usually when I sms my friend who is in the States,
I jsut use + but when dialling manually have to use 00.

The sound quality was surprisingly good. I remember years ago when using those calling cards,
the quality was poor and sometimes dropped calls.
No such thing with this one.

Not sure if this is important but they don't charge a single cent from your existing credit from your sim card.
I made a few mistakes prior to getting it right.
I forgot to put 00 so I got it wrong a few times. Still DIDN'T deduct anything from the airtime and from my Maxis credit.
Very very satisfied.

I called my friend after 7pm so it was only 0.08cents. THat's the cheapest rate you can get!

I will definitely purchase this again when I need to make an overseas call.

Just one tip.
If you want to bank in the money or do online banking, make sure you bank it in the same back a/c as aeiou228.
Otherwise it will take a day or two for him to receive the $$$.

Thanks!

How does Redtone make money off this system?
Direct call is ~30 sen per minute but Nitetone only charges 15 sen?

The mobile telcos mus be raking huge profits from direct calls through their system then?

If you are using hotlink prepaid or maxis value first postpaid, then Nitetone is cheaper.
FnF and Activa5 same rates as Nitetone.

What Nitetone needs is a dialer for phones.
Then no need to append 800 number for new numbers.

We have auto dialer for fixed line phones but not the mobile phone because you can't attach dialer to mobile phones. For mobile phone devices, Simply add 1800 gateway with pause in front of the phone number is already a form of auto dialing method and it is simple, competible to all phone models and easy to communicate to users at large.
Perhaps you know something latest in the market ? Mind to share what kind of dialer you are referring to ? Thank you for your input.

Try doing that for all the numbers in your contacts. rclxub.gif
What is needed is a program to load into your phone to automatically append the gateway number to the numbers in your contact list.

Maybe something like this?

Gee ! you are not going to do that to all your hundreds of phone contacts in one go are you sweat.gif ? It is absolutely unnecessary to key in the 1800 gateway to ALL your contacts. The most frequently called numbers perhaps already registered in your FnF or Activ10 list. Usually Nitetone users will only save 1800 nitetone gateway to remaining balance of frequently called numbers which are not listed under FnF or Activ5 plan due to it's limitation. As for less frequently called numbers, Nitetone user can use "send DTMF from phone contacts" method as described in call options 3 in the 1st post. http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1707511 . Another way is you only add in the 1800 gateway to one contact at a time only when you want to call that number.

When you mentioned a program to be installed in the phone, that's the end of it. It is not going to work on mass scale. First of all, you can't have one universal soft dialer that caters to all the phone's OS in the market ie iOS, Android, RIM, Symbian, WM, W7, etc etc. The soft dialer link you provided is limited to Symbian s60 3rd edition only and iPhone and android phone can't use it. Secondly, majority of phone users are still not tech savvy enough to self install the program into their phone even if we do have the app for all phone models.
For your information, there was one calling card company came out with "auto dialer sim sticker" that promised single click calling directly from phone book but received little response from the market because the auto dialer sim sticker requires an initial installation set up.
We need solution that can cater for all phone models, easy for every one and simple to understand by all. Therefore the current 3 calling methods adopted by Nitetone are the closest we can get to simplicity and ease of use for public at large.

True! True!

The auto-dialler software for symbian was just an example.
Didn't have time to google further for other os.
But you've got a point about installing it.
Personally, it wouldn't be a problem for me but I get it about other users.

I'm no programmer, but a dialler seems to be a simple program and should not be too difficult to implement.

The call rate for domestic calls are still 14sen and 15sen. NO CHANGE. 17sen is impossible. Nitetone provides online 1 day delay itemised bill at http://login.redtone.com/ where you can verify it yourself. Every calls are recorded and itemised for crystal clear transparency.

If you forgot your card ID (for login purposes), please call CS 1800877790 for it.

Other tips
1) Please save the 1800112860 toll free access no. in your phone contacts and assign one touch speed dial for speedier calling to ad hoc phone numbers .
2) You can add/register up to a total of 10 phone numbers to share your one Nitetone credit. Call 1800112860 -> press * -> press 4.
4) When saving phone contact 1800112860p016xxxxxxx, please don't override the original contact number. Just create a new contact name ie. MR XXX NT. The original contact number is needed for sending sms.

For less frequently called numbers, you can opt for send DTMF method.
QUOTE
Option 3: Sending DTMF from phone contacts list.
1) Speed dial Nitetone toll free gateway 1800 11 2860 > Option > Send DTMF > Find name > Select >Ok. (for Nokia Phone)

Just bought RM10 - and got the sms within 5 minutes. Started using it immediately and below are my comments :

1. International IDD mobile - somehow could not go through
2. International IDD home phone - EXCELLENT!!!!

Will definitely buy more. I am a mega heavy user of IDD calls. Definitely much cheaper than my postpaid IDD rates and much better call quality from the other IDD prepaids I have used.

Question : Lets say in the middle of the night I run out of credit and need to top up... How? Transfer and sms you like normal? What if you are asleep?

Can we purchase the top up at 7eleven?

Thank you for the feedback.
Kindly provide me the IDD mobile number you are having problem with. We will do a comparison Nitetone test call and a direct telco test call. You should be able to call any IDD mobile number.

My top up service is from 8am to 11.30pm 24/7. You can get a free membership with a upfront purchase of RM60 stored value (e-Account) then do a self top up (min RM10) at any time you like and enjoy 10% discount.
http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=39119743

Nitetone is not available in e-Pay machine used by 7-Eleven.

Thank you for using Nitetone.

You just need to pay RM60 to buy RM60 stored value ( aka e-Account Credit) to get the life time free membership. Then with the Rm60 e-Account Credit, you can perform a minimum RM10 Nitetone top up anytime you wish 24/7 ( self top up or top up to other phone number also can). The e-Account system will only deduct RM8.80 credit from your e-Account and you got RM10 airtime for Nitetone and RM52.80 credit balance remaining in your stored value ( e-Account credit).

Everything is very transparent with no hidden charges whatsoever. You can check your commissions in realtime from e-Account web portal.
Details instructions on how to perform a top up will be pm to you after you become a member.

I have always been using viber to call my friends in Australia from Malaysia. Since I have updated to the newest version of viber, I have not been able to use it. I need to call Australia very often and am thinking of getting the nitetone. What I don't really understand from all your previous posts about IDD calls are:-

1. Why are IDD calls cheaper than calls within Malaysia? Calls to Australia are RM0.08 and calls within Malaysia are RM0.15.
2. In one of your earlier posts, you mentioned that calls to Australia are RM0.55?

Please clarify and sorry for all the noob questions. sad.gif

1. Many reasons why. One of the reason being the inter-operator termination cost for fixed line is cheaper in Australia. Other reason being pricing strategy.

2. Please refer to the self explanatory rate table. Please take note that call rates differs by fixed line, mobile line, peak and non peak.

user posted image

For your situation, the cheapest option is FREE viber to viber calls using wifi or your phone data plan. But in the even you can't use viber for what ever reason, then you can use Nitetone riding on normal mobile GSM network. You can use Nitetone to call any phone number in the world without the need to install viber and internet.

Let me give you an example. If the rate table stated "Australia" and "Australia Mobile", that means fixed line and mobile line are of different rates.
Let's look at China, only "China" was stated without the "China Mobile", that means fixed line and mobile line are of same rate.

Calling Australia fixed line is (13sen day rate) (8sen nite rate)
Calling Australia mobile line is ( 60sen day rate) ( 55sen nite rate)

Another option is SIPhony 015. You are given a free 015 phone number without monthly rental. Receive calls on your 015 number anywhere in the world FOC. No more roaming.

No need to port in. All mobile operators can use Nitetone. Just that you have a secondary Nitetone airtime beside your main phone line.

Nitetone is for voice only. However there is another stand alone SMS product that provides international SMS from as low as 12sen. Can text from your mobile.

If you call a lot, don't mind lbout limited mobility, then I suggest you REDtone SIPhony015 at 8sen per min but you must use internet or mobile broadband to make calls.

If you want to call at any time and any place using via mobile, then i suggest to use Nitetone at 13sen per min, conveniently make call directly from your mobile phone contacts.

There are two options:

Option 1:
You just buy RM10 Nitetone credit and enjoy the cheap call rates.

Option 2:
You buy RM60 e-Account credit (Stored Value) and get a FREE e-Account membership. Then you can do self reload of RM10 Nitetone at any time you wish and enjoy 10% discount for the reload. Instructions of self reload will be given to you after you become an e-Account member.

You can transfer credit all by yourself.

Use your x number to call 1800112860>*>4>add y number
Then use your y number to call 1800112860>*>5> delete x number

The X number is not active.
I dont use it anymore so I dont reload.
And I noticed that I can't even perform that task because I dont have active credit for that number.

IS there any other way?

Then you can try the more complicated way but not guarantee.

1st, you must login and register your Nitetone account under your name. Then call customer service 1800877790, tell them you change phone number and you want to move your Nitetone account from X number to Y number. If you can satisfy their account ownership verifications, then you should be able to change to Y number.

To find out your card ID, please call 1800877790.

That's the whole idea, to supplement or cover your existing prepaid/postpaid line on voice calls that were not given preferential rates. Eg. interoperator (off net) calls, non favorite/family number calls, idd calls etc.
All you need to do is to add 1800112860 before the destination phone number and you are good to call using Nitetone credit.

Any phone number is possible.
Better to call the Poland no over the maxis number because the maxis number in Poland would have to pay an arm and a leg to receive your call.

No, you pay RM60 for RM60 worth of stored credit. Then you do a Nitetone reload ( to your mobile or any other mobile) say RM10, you will earn RM1 (10%) stored credit in real time. Your stored credit balance after the reload is RM51.00.
Commission and transactions report/statement can be viewed online in realtime.

The CLIP and CLIR caller id features are determined at the very first reload of Nitetone. Once customer opted one of the caller id features at the very first reload, the feature will stay permanently and there is no way to change it.

Surcharge actually refers to peak rates from 7am to 7pm, Monday to Friday.
7pm to 7am and Saturday and Sunday are off peak.

Tested a few calls, didn't find any abnormality. Can give more specific info of the call you made ? Bad call quality can be due to many factors, for example, the call reciever is located at the weak GSM network coverage area.

SMS is not necessary a must. It's just an additional option to notify the payment and get the top up done faster.
For immediate top up, you can call the top up center directly.

As long as you fill up top up center email address as per attached sample above, redtone will receive email notification from maybank. You don't have to email, sms or call.
You only call when you need the Topup immediately.

Can. Redtone receive the money and they need to know who paid, what is it for and which account to top up, so you must tell them what to do with your money.

For Android phone, to insert a pause between the gateway 1800877734 and phone number, please use the COMMA key: " , "
One comma = approximately 2 seconds pause. Try insert one comma first to test it out and add more commas if necessary.

Below is how I input and see a contact number.

The first contact is for sending sms to Najib.
The second contact with NT extension denote a pre-programed Nitetone voice call to Najib.

Contact Najib:
Mobile: +601234567890

Contact Najib NT:

Unfortunately, I never owned a BB before, therefore I'm not familiar with the BB apps store. Alternatively, you can save the contact by adding 1800877734p0123456789

You still pay RM10 for RM10 credit. GST will only be charged upon consumption of credit. Eg, your last call chargers was RM1, then RM1.06 will be deducted from your credit.
