KANGAR: Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) muncul antara 35 institusi pengajian tinggi awam dan swasta yang menerima pengiktirafan cemerlang (TIER 5) menerusi Sistem Penarafan Institusi Pengajian Tinggi (SETARA) 2011 yang diumumkan Menteri Pengajian Tinggi, Datuk Seri Khaled Nordin, semalam.

Pencapaian ini menunjukkan peningkatan dari pengiktirafan sangat baik (TIER 4) yang diperolehi UniMAP pada penilaian SETARA dua tahun lalu.

SETARA bertujuan untuk mengukur kualiti pengajaran dan pembelajaran pada tahap enam kerangka kelayakan Malaysia peringkat Ijazah Pertama bagi dan kolej universiti di Malaysia. Ia meliputi tiga domain generik iaitu Input, Proses dan Output untuk menilai kualiti pengajaran dan pembelajaran.

Antara universiti awam lain yang turut memperoleh TIER 5 adalah:


Sementara itu, Datuk Seri Khaled juga mengumumkan penarafan bintang bagi Instrumen Penilaian Penyelidikan Malaysia (MyRA). UniMAP meraih pencapaian tiga bintang sekaligus mendahului dalam kedudukan Rangkaian Universiti Teknikal Malaysia (MTUN).

yea, the budget is 16k if im not mistaken. Dr. Shariman and Dr Wan is the leader of this project. But me under En halim since he master in vision.

I heard that mid-term examinations over at UniMAP have changed a lot. Previously, lecturers just anyhow dished out a few questions here and there for the students, and we call that our mid-term test. But now, the system has changed, where mid-terms are being taken on a more serious note.

Can anyone confirm this?

If you happen to bump into our Master, please let him know everybody here misses him and his hilarious comments.

Wow, I am so lucky.    During my time, midterm is conducted by only one lecturer. Questions are like those in the quiz. How many questions, the test duration, all depends on the lecturer. There was no standard.

But also good la. At least everything is standardised. No wonder Tier 5 la.

They all are first class university
But i also don't know how to be a premium university

Anyway it is refreshing to know that UniMAP is moving towards the right direction. No doubt it would be quite a burden on the students as exams and everything is harder, but we will all benefit from it in the long run.

One thing's for sure. This famous response will not be heard anymore:

You sure, nowdays industrial no see your cgpa but experience.
Just Intel and famous factory see the cgpa as primary choice.

But for sure, unimap student got many positive way in working environment.
