 Black screen after "Starting Windows" screen

My gf's laptop hv this prob, which is black screen after "Starting Windows: screen

desktop is not coming out after the screen. after restart everything backs to normal. anyone knows wat happen?

laptop is Asus A52J. A52JC if not mistaken

i think maybe something prob with ur gc...try update da driver...i got this prob oso...

it stuck at starting windows bout 2 minutes n trus at welcome screen... sweat.gif

1. Is this a recurring problem or only happen that one time?

2. If it is recurring, could you boot normally into safe mode?

Very likely to be GT310M driver problem... Try update to the latest drivers, if already done so, try to reinstall it again..

Used to have GT310M desktop card. Give me some problem in driver also. After sometime i is very lag......only thing to solve is reinstall. I dont know how's laptop....should be the same.

dear all, so far this is the 1st time happening. but she has 0 knowledge abt this pc stuff.

i try ask her to do herself n see

Boot in safe mode.
See if the problem exists.
If the problem still exists, then start consider Windows problem.
If the problem solved, then remove all startups.
Then try to boot.
If the problem still exists, then boot in safe mode and remove driver, then install 260.99(Personally tried, stable) driver.
If the problem no more, that means some softwares are interrupting.
Try to open back startup 1 by 1, see which 1 is the culprit.

the prob comes back again, several times ald.
nvidia driver is 260.99
or mayb the asus's program giving the prob?
