planning go to lowyat buy my new CPU today....but my IT knowledge no sure it is good enuf or nt...
my PC is more for designing...such like After effect and 3Ds max...
for sure~that is also for gaming~XD

is USB 3.0 can detect those pendrive with USB 2.0?

because i have a set of sonicgear 5.1 speaker...so i think put a sound card will make the sound more surround...so the On board sound card is good already for 5.1?
can u help me deduct the performance till below my budget RM3000?thx a lot~XD

latest motherboards nowadays already provide u a good enough on-board sound card for ur needs but if u have the extra money and/or u're willing to fork out more on an external sound card then go ahead ^^ of course it gives much better sound quality for gaming and movies or even music

i've no comment on ur choice in motherboards + processors haha...
any graphics card that is higher than gtx460 is good enough for games like u've mentioned
latest graphics card that are long is able to fit into most cooler master casing but for some, it might be a little tight
most gaming desktop i've seen is mostly fitted with 6GB ram (2GB each)
power supply, perhaps 600W above should be okay

as for the usb 3.0 thingy...u'll probably be getting the speed of a 2.0 if u use use 2.0...

Added on January 5, 2011, 10:06 pmAHHH,1 more thing.U dont need USB 3.0 now while theres not much E-HDD,pen drives and other accessories that are usin USB 3.0.As mentioned on top,the 3.0 will change to 2.0 speed.And dont worry if you dont have USB 3.0 on the board.There will be 2.0 to 3.0 converters in the future.

it is not considered outdated yet...i did not mean that..what i mean is..it is good enough for recent games..starcraft 2, nfs hot pursuit, and so on..
it'll last u about 2/3 years or so until those latest games that are hungry with more clocking speed and processing speed are out lol..
u can also consider what Source96 has stated and just mix and match xD
i'm just giving my opinion as i'm also listing out myself on what i want for a new desktop soon..

AMD o...because i never use any AMD before...and many of my friends no really recommend me to buy AMD...they say will have overheat problem if u run it too long...i also scare it will overheat because mostly of the time i need to run my PC for few day without power off to rush my assignment...

Stock cooler could surely gurantee wont have overheat issue unless you go overclock it . Or else , you can try get a good cpu cooler which provide silent and efficient .

Just nid to mount the cpu cooler on the motherboard . It is not that hard if you follow the manual . If you are just a normal user , a stock cooler is very enough . No point waste money

not modify the stock cooler..
he means for you to buy a different cooler like those from coolermaster, xigmatek, thermalright, etc etc

kk add 1more...Cooler Master Hyper TX3 RM 69.AMD is fine..cheap for budget build..all the problems is fixed.Would last long and perform better than i5 series

AMD's overheat problem is solved long time ago..Nothing happened with my OC-ed quaddie doesnt exceed 45c n above while idling a long period

Hyper tx3 worth rm69 ? Better get a hyper 212+ used one , cost just around rm60 which could be found at garage sales . Btw , tx3 is good with its money value - cheap
