totally depends on finishing and quality of awning i would say. can use alluminium casing, stainless steel, steel + tons of various quality levels of the transparent sheets. so you need to decide what specs you want first

Interesting question,I'm also looking for tansparent awning... I don't like the front of my porch to be dark due to the lack of sunlight, so I think transparent awning sounds like a good solution.

What transparent sheets are available? I'm just lookign at durability here and not for sunlight blocking.

I requested an awning quote for 16 square feet, and the contractor quoted me RM400... is it a accurate estimate or is he ripping me off?

Not transparent, just the normal run-of-the-mill small town red opaque poly. Figured I'll be better off with blinds.

16 square feet is like 4 feet X 4 feet... if it's that small job usually contractor will quote higher.

I'm thinking of fixing the awning in my car porch too but I feel this transparent awning looks aweful to the modern house. The solution is go for portable awning if you have a budget where you can fold it up through electric arms whenever you don't need it.

my transparent awning materials is from GE, it looks good. but will need maintenance.

price is dependent on the scale also... like you cant compare price for 200sq ft with 10sq ft price.... if like that die la

e.g. RM 10.00 per sqft for 200 sqft is RM 2000.00 then you compare with 10 sqft its like RM 100.00

RM 100.00?? say material RM 50+ and works manship RM 40?? installation need half day, lorry diesel?? the contractor earning is Rm 40.00 for few days or RM 10.00 per day??
