If I may offer my opinion.
I don't think dedicated CDP only will make much of a difference as you are using a AVR as your amplification.
Currently your avr is also doing the digital to analog conversion, which I think is not up to your satisfaction.
Try using the analog output fron the PS3 to your avr's analog input and see if it improves.
