Tv cabinet, Can anybody share your tvcabinet design

A friend just pointed out something to me and I thought might as well post it here to get the answer. For TV cabinets with drawers/closure, can we put the astro/unifi TV receiver/DVD player inside the drawer and still able to use remote control on them (while the drawers are closed)? How about Unifi Wifi modem? Will it still able to emit wifi signal to our computers? At first, I’m thinking of getting an IKEA TV cabinet due to tight budget but now started to have second thoughts.
