Small toddle doesn't understand whole sentence, eg: when you say

Do not touch, he/she might miss out the do not and hence why you are headahce.

Toddle are better to be told exactly and percisely using simple sentence what is expected.

I think the monster in them is released when they start learning how to walk. That is when they will grab everything, upside down your bag, etc

Mine when he is b4 walking mode is so much easier to take care...

I bought him toys, he likes the paper wrapper more.

I bought him the toy that can assist him to push and walk, he prefers to use our cheapo stool instead.

I bought him nice table toy, he plays with pail or bowl instead.

I ask him not to chew rubber band, he seems to like it even more.

I ask him to hold my hand while he is learning to walk, but he doesn't want and keep falling down.

He don't understand the word No, but he understands the word 'Kai Kai' (Go out), 'Mum Mum' (Food), 'Tv Tv' (Cartoon).

After recovering from 1 weeks+ sick with no bathing, he now hates bath which he used to like. Bathing him is like bathing ourselves too.

Change diaper, he will not stay still. He may try to crawl away while still having poop poop still uncleaned yet. Normally we have to wrestle with him.

He is only 14 months+ Scold him is like scolding at wall. The difference is he will come back to me even when I am angry and sit next to me. At times give massage / hug me too.

Their manja~ness in to powderful... really heart can melt one.

Just deal it quietly when they are not around........

QUOTE(abubin @ Jan 14 2011, 05:52 PM)
not using the word 'no' is one of the many different methods to bring up a child. Canning is also another method to bring up a child. You apply the method that you think suits you. Like me, I uses a balance between canning and saying 'no" and rewarding and so on.

I do play with my kids and they play with me. But when I am angry with them, I say "no" and they will know. And when it still does not work, comes the cane.

I do not have the patience of the western way in which no canning. Or don't say 'no'. That is just not my style.

Use whichever method that suits you and your kids.

My father rarely canes me, he only rewards me usually for my exams performance and spank me when i fail my exams......

My husband gets annoyed by my 3yr old cousin. He is her favourite and she keeps asking him the same questions over and over till he cannot tahan anymore and he yells. But my cousin just sit on his lap, hug him and say, "i love u. Im sorry." Haha. Baby 1, Hubby 0.
