Tan Sri Mokhzani Mahathir, through a statement issued by his investment vehicle Kencana Capital Sdn. Bhd., has denied media reports that he was looking at acquiring Petrol One Resources Berhad (PetOne).


“We would like to clarify and state that neither Kencana Capital, Mokhzani nor Yeow Kheng Chew are engaged in any discussions or negotiations with regard to Petrol One Resources, to acquire shares, inject assets or mount a takeover of the company,”


Kencana Capital said in a statement on September 2013. The clarification came about after a news report stated that Mokhzani and Yeow were interested in PetOne for its listing status and were discussing a potential takeover of PetOne.

Interim prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad left his residence to attend a private function before heading to Istana Negara.


His convoy, consisting of six vehicles and four police motorcycles, was spotted departing from The Mines Residence at 12.13pm.

Dr Mahathir himself was seated in a black Mercedes with tinted windows.

He is believed to be attending his granddaughter’s wedding function.





Dr M Enters Istana Negara For Audience With Agong



For the second day, a number of senior politicians are scheduled to meet the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah at the Istana Negara.

Yesterday, the Agong met with Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin as part of a weekly pre-cabinet meeting before then holding audiences with opposition leaders Anwar Ibrahim, Lim Guan Eng and Mohamad Sabu.

It is understood that the Covid-19 pandemic situation and the ending of the emergency are among the issues expected to be discussed at the meetings.
