Further Updates for my Mikupa trip:
Air Ticket: Checked
Mikupa Ticket: Checked (having a hard time to get this, and it never comes cheap)
VISA: Done (From certain aspect, this one harder to obtain than Mikupa Ticket)
Above those three has to be done in certain timing manners, else will end up in Bad Ending either way.
AIR TICKET
Due to some funny random promotion package offered in Msia, normally the first step you do is to secure a two-way dirt-cheap tickets to Tokyo. I asked my fren who staying at foreign country such as Indon, they cant get the same dirt cheap price in their country, although same from AirAsia.
How cheap is dirt cheap?
Comparison:
MAS priced RM3000+
AirAsia promo package: RM1000 (might can get cheaper, so far I check this is the cheapest)
See the difference?
VISA
This one is really TRICKY, considered I am quite LUCKY, I able to get it after my first attempt.
How to get it?:
1. Check on the Embassy of Japan Website, Downlaod the VISA form, Download the travel ititenery form, and check which type of visitor you going to be at Japan.
2. Follow STRICTLY and get all the documents mentioned from the website
note: STRICTLY means, you CAN'T use your PASSPORT PHOTO for VISA APPLICATION FORM, you must go to take another new sets of photos at Photographing Shop, cause Japan VISA got its own format for photograph, normally the photographer will ask you what purpose, which country you are going, but just in case they din ask, you have to tell them it is for JAPAN VISA and the its format.
3. Form-filling: This is the most tricky part, depending on personal situation. The officer will directly reject your form without even process on it if you do not fill up all the fields in the form.
My first attempt after queuing up, was rejected badly due to empty field at "dependent's address", "hotel address", and "dependent info"
This means, when you intend to solo to Japan, you got to have friends over there to act as your guarantor, otherwise I not sure there is another way to fill up those fields if you don't.
4. MIN. AMT of Money(hidden): Although they said no minimum amount of money needed inside your bank account, but after I called them personally, they said it is RM6K at least.
5. Employer's Letter: This the KEY item for increasing your chance of getting VISA, virtually 0% chance of success if you do not include this item for application. It can guarantee better than your words, not to overstay illegally in Japan. Depend on the type of Organization you're in, either issued by HR dept, or your direct BOSS.
I witnessed with my own eyes in Japan Embassy, there are so many applicant was rejected cause of various issues, the atmosphere there is quite tense and made me keep re-check my attachments for VISA application.
Last but not least, MIKUPA TICKET!!~~
My experience:
First lottery for the early-bird ticket: Failed
2nd lottery: missed the timing
3rd lottery: Failed
General Sales: Failed, ticket sold out within minutes after general sales started(I was late by merely half an hour after the sales start, wrong timing to Tokyo's timezone)
Yahoo Auction Japan: Attempted during JAN, failed miserably due to fierce competition for first 3 rows of audience stands. Final bid price that time is RM1800 - RM2000 per ticket (10 times the original price, RM200++)
That time I decided to put the ticket auctioning on hold while get my VISA done, one of my net friend given up for getting the tickets due to DIVINE price of the auction bids.
I was like half-way to give up too cause it seems impossible to get it, even though budget is not a problem for me. It is that HARD/impossible to get even though you got money.
Sparks of hope lit me up again when my VISA to Japan is granted, I thought, why not fighting it for my main purpose of this trip to the fullest?? Since budget is not a big issue for me.
Thus, thanks to my friend in Japan (She helped me a tons!!~~), Finally, grabbed the auction bids, paid the amount, and ticket is on the way for me to collect.
From this incident/event/trip, I learned a lot of things by doing it myself and with my friend's aid.
For TL; DR users:
Although not RM1800-RM2000, but my ticket does not come cheap, at least X times than original price.
