haha yes, since the price is so irresistible, i manage to get one yesterday... now still burn in and i still put it outside my room. once i swap the place with R501 i will make some quick review with picture. lol but so far, i do not regret paying for it. btw i know why they are selling this so cheap, cause the USB support for Win7 is dead. lucky i don't use their s/w.

well i don't know if someone posted this before, since i can't find any result using search tools. it's someone who creatively crafted a new housing for his Logitech Z5500. I must admit it is a very creative mod. Here is Logiwood Logitech Z5500.

try ffdshow also. some codec packs include that with media player classic. has the passthrough option in mixer tab:

i think what he means is if he set the Dolby too high (96000hz maybe) the Z906 wouldn't support it (through SPDIF).

Added on August 20, 2011, 5:41 pmon the other note, Z5500 claims it support up to 96000hz 24-bit (for the dts) connection through SPDIF. so i bet Z906 also supports it.

that is normal. what you're explaining is called upmix. the panel on the Z906 may only allow you to upmix to either of those preset 3D stereo or 4.1 Stereo.

unless you use other software that allow you to upmix your stereo music into 5.1, then that's all you can get. in my experience, upmix ruins your music. it may sound good in some songs, but certainly not all.

but in case you're interested, you can use channelmixer from foobar2000 to control how your front, center, rear and subwoofer sound.
