halo. i got problem with my z-680 i bought a week ago. after breaking in for few days, i started to play high bass song with subwoofer volume max, system volume max, then speaker volume only at 50%... then i heard some rattling sound (kRRk kRRk KRRk) from the speaker. at 40% the speaker still sound sweet n can shake my table.

so is my speaker defective or all malaysian z-680 also like this? kinda worried because my z-640 still in lowyat being repaired becoz got rattling sound even at low volume.

dhouseng, thanks for the pics thumbup.gif

it looks like logitech has basically 'chopped' their name all over, i dont think you can see more info anyway, but hey, those are good pics! thumbup.gif

you should try contacting MCL or logitech and asking for options. if youre sure that its the driver that has been killed, then perhaps you can ask them wheter you can replace JUST the driver. if cant, then you might have no choice but to change the entire sub. i think the amp is also built into the sub, right? if so, you might have to be paying for nothing... or if its the amp that is the problem, maybe you can ask them if you could just buy the amp.

good luck and happy hunting!

its not the driver ler.... its the wooden subwoofer box. they got loose already. i have to press them hard or put something heavy on them to stop them from making rattling noises. at first i tought it was the wires inside causing rattling noises. so i glued allllll the wires with silicone glue. n after that only found out it was the box.

sad la 2 logitech speaker i buy also got this problem. the first speaker z-640 i send for warranty, they said have to repair 3 weeks, i can't wait so i bought z-680. then this z-680 got problem again. sure i wont send it back la. 3 weeks no speaker use meh. i want buy z5500 now

guess wat i did today. today i got too crazy of the rattling noise so i cannot tahan so i went to hardware shop to get some nails... (see picture) .... so. the subwoofer really did improve! no irritating noises like before. hope it will last. if the box ever make noise again i will destroy the whole box and DIY a new box.
