both shot with Nikon D700 + CZ 2/35 smile.gif

Also, I shot a prom recently! Click here to view some of the photos.

Oh, I'm thinking of buying a wider lens and I'm on a budget. Does anybody have the Nikon 24mm f/2.8? What do you think of it? Pros and cons? hmm.gif

Zeiss lens is manual focus in Nikon??
*
Yes, MF only for Nikon, Canon and Pentax. but you get AF with ZA lenses if you use Sony biggrin.gif

how much for the lens? u need an adapter correct?
*
I bought the 2/35 Import version, so its about RM1k cheaper. it costs me about RM2.8k. no I don't need an adapter since its a ZF.2 mount

wow. using a MF lens for an event.  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif

how many OOF shots did u get?
*
not that many. I was mostly spot-on for portraits, the focus dot on the D700 works tremendously well. I had more OOF shots with the Nikon 50mm f/1.8 to be honest !

For nature lovers and macro shooters, I suggest you head to the Secret Garden in One Utama. I was there yesterday, they have some beautiful flowers biggrin.gif

You guys seriously think that the D800 will be so much better than the D700 that it would be actually worth the upgrade cost for a hobbyist?
*
it would be if there is a big increase in MPs (that crowd will love it), full HD video. BUT, if the flash is absent from the D800, that would be a bummer. for the D700 users, I would think spending on lenses and maybe even the recently released Pocketwizards FlexTT5 and MiniTT1 would be more beneficial and sensible, especially if photography is only a hobby to you.

Nah, D3 doesn't have video too. D3 is the probably only FF without sensor cleaning xD that one more unique tongue.gif.

Yeah, its tough to come up with a better camera than D700. I would upgrade to D800 if somehow the AF system is improved further, say more cross sensor points biggrin.gif. Else I would just stick to D700.
*
can't agree more with that. I wouldn't mind having less AF points, but if they are more spaced out from one another, then thats better!

Anyone knows how much is a 50mm f1.4G is selling now?
Is it that much of a difference in terms of focusing speed and IQ compared to the f1.4D?
*
get the 50mm f/1.8, less than RM400 for a fast normal lens : bargain! absolutely love this lens.
spend the rest of your money on a trip to use that lens brows.gif
the difference between the 3 Nikon 50 mils are minimal in my view
