Grab the D7000. Good ISO and also crop factor for your long range usage xD.

Thanks... Will wait for your replies. If all ok maybe I'll have to check with the shop again. Anyone tried claiming warranty direct from Nikon? I have a feeling the boss would argue saying all his units are the same...

Well mine is a lil obvious and though it doesn't affect the picture, I feel that if there are good units available, I would prefer to have a good unit too. I may be petty and I know I'm demanding too much for a lower end model.  Truthfully I don't mind if all units comes with this defect. But if only a selected few has defects and mine is 1 of them, then maybe I'd request for warranty ler...

aiyoyo, I've met alot of gear head around.

But I came across a funny one who asked for my recommendation. He owned Canon 550D with 18-135 lens. He wanna change his gear. Firstly, I asked why do you want to change?

He replied "because it looks lousy from the outside and not enough blur of the background photo". Wah piang. Gave me a total sweat bigger than Hiroshima.

So he ended up sold out his Canon gear and jump to Nikon D7000. Pretty useless tho since he buys his gear for display. (rich a$$)

erm ... i am using a Manfrotto 190XPROB tripod + 496RC2 ball head ... its very sturdy & stable but its not light at all ... if u want it really light u need to go for those carbon ones which is freakin expensive ...

Try to use entry level DSLR and you will find out why I am keep thinking about upgrading body. as per siggy 50mm. It's only a complimentary.
I think what I need is a photography course. 

Next upgrade d800 + 70-200mm vr2... Hope that I could release it by this end of the year... D7000 will be served as my second body then... That's part of the plan...

how bout the tamron 28-75/2.8? same issues?

i used to have similar dilemma as u, except mine is between D90 or Sigma 50
but y i wanted either these 2?
cos i want 50 f/1.4's low light capability n bokeh
get D90 then can use 50 1.8 with AF
but in d end get Sigma 50 cos its lens that is limiting me, not body

so ask urself wat is limiting u actually

yea indeed i do miss out a lot of photog opportunity before i got a dslr...for an example, when i visited sydney with my crappy slr, all of my friend were using dslr, those shutter melody keep making me envy lol as my slr produce a fake shutter click sound...u know how its feel ayte    ...but after i got my dslr, i pay a visit to sydney again  ...
cant wait to go back aus after cny... there is lot of potential i mean landscape and potrait to capture
