EG = Imported Civic ; can be 2 door or 4 door. Come with either EFI D15B, EFI D15B or B16A
EG8 = 1.5L D15B ![]() ![]() ![]() EH = Local Model; Mostly sedan; comes with mostly ZC16/MF616 *correct me if i'm wrong Example of a EH/SR4 ![]() ![]() ![]() * Non vtec Civic EJ1 & EJ2 = Coupe variant of the Civic EG. *there is a 1.6L engine option, most likely a ZC16/MF616. not sure about the rest ![]() * Local model = red tag * Import model = blue tag This post has been edited by ericmaxman: Dec 26 2010, 01:15 AM |

tq all for the input. so it is actually a codename la. like BMW's E36, E46, or Mercedes W123, W124, etc.
but how come from 5th gen to 6th gen, supposed to be from EJ to EK, then jumped back to EJ again? |

Those are the chassis codes. Each generation begins with the specific Ex code

QUOTE(TUV-hyperstar @ Dec 26 2010, 01:41 AM) tq all for the input. so it is actually a codename la. like BMW's E36, E46, or Mercedes W123, W124, etc. u dont need to confuse ur self. but how come from 5th gen to 6th gen, supposed to be from EJ to EK, then jumped back to EJ again? normally, people would recognize a 5th gen civic as EG while the 6th gen as the EJ or EK. EJ is a local model sold in Malaysia which is imported by Honda Malaysia whereas the EK is an imported by grey importers. but seriously, 5th - EG 6th - EK |

QUOTE(KeyWest @ Jun 13 2011, 09:38 AM) yes. but need to check compatibility with other parts... eg. if ur car has a stock front end... if u buy the '99 EK9 fender its not gonna fit coz the '99 EK9 headlights are bigger. but if u buy the entire set... then yeah. itll fit with no issues.QUOTE(Minifans @ Jun 13 2011, 09:54 AM) Sometimes I was wondering is EH body-parts same as EG? in terms of fitment yes... but there are cosmetic changes from 1 chassis to anotherOR EJ body-parts same as EK Can any sifu answer my question =| my EH is using EG bodyparts. but take note that there are parts on the 4 door sedan that are different and will not fit in the 3 door sedan. eg. from signal lights. |
