Sorry if the question is noobish. Not sure whether this is something to worry or not. I owned a Harman Kardon HS300 which came with HKTS7 speakers. The HS300 blown last week so I bought a Marantz SR6005 but now im not sure if the speakers is compatible with the Marantz AVR as I am confused with the power difference... HKTS 7 SpeakersNominal Power: 10 Watt RMS Peak Power Handling: 80 Watt Marantz SR6005 AVRPower Output (8 Ohm) 110W (20Hz - 20kHz, 0.08% THD, 2ch driven) x7

QUOTE Power Output (8 Ohm) 110W (20Hz - 20kHz, 0.08% THD, 2ch driven) x7 - note that 110W is power output with 2 channels driven; with all channels driven the amp probably cannot put out more than 30W, but even that will be more than enough
- assuming the speakers are not very efficient (85db/w/m) and you are sitting 3m away from them, you need no more than 20W per channel to be listening at reference level (85dbSPL) [reference]
- chances are your normal listening will not require more than 16W per channel
as mpyw said, lack of power is more of a danger to any system This post has been edited by SiriuslyCold: Dec 24 2010, 08:53 AM

Yeahhhh~~~ Thanks all for replying! I'd hooked up the system and it took me 2 hours + to set everything. When I completed the Audyssey setup, the sound is not even close to HS300 when I thought SR6005 should be more superior than Harman Kardon HS300 =_=||| had to manually readjust everything to make it sound louder. And now I am facing another problem. The AV Receiver omitting static sound. I'd check all connection to make sure nothing loose but the static sound is still there? Anything else I can do? Googled and found something called 'Ground Loop Eliminator' but I am not sure if that will fix the problem. again...

Make sure the ohm rating is compatible. I think ur AVR can select between 4ohm/8ohm/etc.
