Assisted GPS right ? Yeah, it's disable. When I run my Ovi Maps, lets say I'd want to drive to some place, it'll get stuck saying "Waiting for GPS". Is that normal ?

you need to wait until your GPS is locked to satellite...

this is tips how to make it faster.
1]make sure you open the GPS apps outside/outdoor... the phone GPS will be weaker indoor...

i'm sure it only takes not more than 5minutes..

mine is only around 2minutes.. if use it frequently.. not even 1 minute also can lock..

Using AGPS can lock within seconds if you have a data connection and once it's locked then it will not use the data connection again. If you're on a long journey, I have found that it can use the AGPS a few times especially in places of poor satelite reception. Each lock uses about 10k of data so it works out to roughly about 10 cents per access.

I think it's quite reasonable given it's speed and accuracy in tracing and locking down the satelites signal.

Menu --> Setting --> Application Settings --> Positioning --> Positioning Methods --> Disable Assisted GPS (AGPS).
but it's always advisable to turn on the AGPS. it helps u to locate n to have the positioning within seconds, and it will auto disconnent after positioning successfully.
btw, it's a must to enable the GPS ya in that setting.


then, make sure the ovi maps must be in the offline mode.
Menu --> Maps (Ovi) --> Setting --> Internet --> Connection --> Offline

Guys I have a big problem. I Installed Whatsapp! on my N8. After installing that, I did not like how my phone batt was dying so i decided to unistall it. Now my 3g/edge/ data does not seem to work. Whenever i am away from my home and If i try to use my 3g connection to surf it says 'Acess denied'. I have deleted the destinations of all my configurations and gotten new ones from Maxis itself. Sigh its still not working. Does anyone have any idea?
