I am using my Ipad as my video for my kids in my car. So I bought this car mount from ebay. The quality is quite bad but with some modifications, I manage to make it work really well and its very sturdy now.

This is my iPad with the leather casing(not sure if its real leather) i bought in Beijing China. You can buy this casing here in
The quality is really good eventhough is non-branded and i will buy another of it if I have to buy another case.

Its pretty cheap at USD9.99 but it need some modifications to make it work. Here is the link to ebay

Here is what i did with the iPad car mount. When I first receive it. I mount my iPad to it and i notice that ball joint cannot firmly hold the ipad so i tighten the screw to see if it work. The next thing I realise is the the screw broke off so I have a piece of junk with me. Then I decided to mod it so I use cable tie to wrap around the plastic that hold the ball in place as shown by the photo below. That hold the ball in the socket but the ipad is still moving around freely so I insert 2 piece of metal I got from my PC casing and insert it into the socket(see picture). That hold the ipad up well. Then i try it in the car but after a few use the joint broke off due to the weight of the iPad on a moving car. So I had to superglued it back and now its tough as a rock.

So finally I had a working car mount and it look like this. Notice there is a rubber robe tie to it. That is a safety rope that hook up tot the head rest in the car during use to avoid the ipad from dropping should any part break during off-road driving wink.gif.

Because of the weight of the ipad, I place a sponge at the back to hold the iPad firmly.

I have given up looking for a good mount for the iPad. I think it's easier just to make one. Just make a pocket from canvas with some Velcro to hang it on the head rest.
