QUOTE(unknown warrior @ Jan 3 2011, 12:40 AM) Mine's normal size only, 250ml geez, why you all kids always think posts are like challenging what you do? honestly I don't think it's cheap because going by the volume you bought, should have been cheaper. honestly LFS don't keep that many shrimps. what you bought surpasses normal LFS. BTW it's kinda weird, you have 3 feet tanks, only shrimps? no fishes? QUOTE(chuppy2 @ Jan 3 2011, 01:01 AM) lol uncle unknown warrior. not sure about his consequences but what I liked about his thinking is that, 100 cardinals really is just 'normal' in a 3footer. let alone my 4footer. gasp. So when people shudder at the numbers have to see la what are his needs and etc. I've helped someone in Penang stock 500 cardinal tetras before for his 8feet iwagumi. Look okay nia . lol! But youre right on one thing. 3footer and all only shrimps? weh.. need o? lol! But I doubt it.. if he's breeding he wont have such a mix lol. Drew QUOTE(unknown warrior @ Jan 3 2011, 01:07 AM) I'm trying to go against the rule book. I'm struggling to balance out, planted tank and fishes. I know fishes uproot plants and creates mess. I won't go all out with difficult to maintain type of plants. Right now, I've changed to all low maintenance plants, bought a bundle of mosses, tight them real tight to my smaller drift wood. Because I see the rule of planted tanks is to keep fishes that doesn't mess your plants. That's why most planted tank only house Shrimps or small fishes and even that is in small qty. Sigh, I always like to go against the norm. QUOTE(chuppy2 @ Jan 3 2011, 01:28 AM) Well, to see a big enough fish that can uproot plants in lets say a 3footer just isnt aesthetically pleasing though. Just My opinion. Unless youre into arowanas and all that. Mmmmm Abc saw my tank before, I got Mix fish and etc, but then i keeping my fish less and shrimps level higher, bcos the size of this Shrimps is small unlike Yamoto shimps, u really does not see it at all with the amount of plant, Sry i never post my tank up.. Very ulgy looking landscapes very paiseh Only bottom dwellers like loaches and certain plecos would still stay small and would uproot plants.. Shrimps like the el cheap ghost shrimps are also uprooters.. the low maintenance plant for you should be anubias sp nana "petite". super low maintenance . and small and pleasing to the eye. I am not so sure about the rules of 'planted tank' as I am more used to the rules of 'Aquascaping' already.. So aesthetic values comes to play a big role after practicality . So we just keep fishes that looks nice in our tanks. or suitable or ones that fit into our tanks. Just my opinion here. Not taking every post as a challenge lol. On a 3 Feet tank you with 100 shrimps also you really does not see any, like maybe 1 - 5 around if you really see provided your tank have full plant, my tank as below; Tank 1 (mature landscapes) 50 Cardinals tetra 10 Neon tetra 3 Albino Neon tetra 10 Gold tetra 10 Danio margaritatus 20 Nitret Snail 20 Ember tetra 40 Bee Shrimps 40 Tiger Shrimps 20 CRS 10 -15 Yamato 3 - 5 cardinals shrimps 2 Siamese algae eater 1 Mini Puffer fish (Snail control, my tank is Snail free actually) then got some those suckers fish.. butterfly suckers.. etc etc.. mmmm... tank 2 (not done yet no time) 20 Diamond head neon tetra 3 Neon tetra (Large mature 1) 2 mini Puffer fish 2 Siamese algae eater then those suckers fish |

QUOTE(Superdude @ Jan 3 2011, 12:00 PM) where is xian leng? any adrress? Frozen Blood worms, Do perfectly well. But mini puffer fish have his own character, i got total 5, 2 given to friend. 1 of them does not eat blood worms, and another will eat fish pallet.. mmm and they have funny character if you look at them, 1 will only swim open water most of the time, and 1 will hide all the time near the moss and look for snails. I also got Snail that eat snails is call (Anentome) helena. they dwell only at night and back to sleep at day. What do you feed your mini puffer fish if that is no snail in your fish tank? This post has been edited by rasinblood: Jan 3 2011, 02:06 PM![]() U yet to see a fully heavy planted 3ft with only CRS, full with CRS.... Yea with 100 crs is like so little.. u understand well.. Actually with that amount for 3 feet is little already, as i say is so small.. only can see them during feeding time, but is okay to have more abit and cross breed with other people crs as will boost healthy community for them, i exchange my shrimps w some other shrimps hobbies, it will get weaker if you still remain as the same gen. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « My 2009 3ft was with 100 cardinal ler.... what so fancy bout tat??? hehehe Mmmmm truely understand me so much » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « |

If you swap shrimps not many la, a few with some people it will solve your "shrimps weaker" problem..Yea with 100 crs is like so little.. u understand well.. Actually with that amount for 3 feet is little already, as i say is so small.. only can see them during feeding time, but is okay to have more abit and cross breed with other people crs as will boost healthy community for them, i exchange my shrimps w some other shrimps hobbies, it will get weaker if you still remain as the same gen. well, the weaker is coz by in breeding... |

QUOTE(pinchboyz @ Jan 3 2011, 02:29 PM) every shrimp breader will face that problem, is call in-breeding... That why to counter we take over shrimps from somewhere to break this in-breeding.. then how you counter if you have this problem beside getting shrimps from else where mind sharing ?having same gene reproduce few generation... |
