For your 1 feet tank, I think you should trim it, cause its blocking the light and it might not be so good for the carpet plant...

There was a discussion before about whether its cost effective or feasible or not since its so hard to find the materials.

Conclusion, just use ADA, JBL or Seachem... Cheaper easier

i go to nearest LFS thanx for michanz for the info
i've got new light wich cost me RM3++
i piece DW cost me RM100
30gm java moss RM30
and now i'm over budget.....
cant effort to buy ADA soil...
the LFS said it cost me for RM3++
for the full set of substrate including fertilizer
so i've decide to change my style to bonsai...
now i'm submerging the DW for cleaning process

do i submerge the moss with dechlorinate water
or i dechlorinate the water on the current tank and put the plant there?
