I was wondering how much chloride the water here in KL actually contains? I have been putting the suggested amount of aquasafe in my tank. Did a few tests (only strips) over the days, but it keeps telling me I have too much chloride in the tank (only a 9gallon fluval 3D Egde).

Any idea if KL has much more chloride then other countries/areas?

Btw...anyone who visits EA Midvalley these days: Could you check whether they have those tiny otto's again?

Your advise is needed smile.gif

I am thinking of having a tank custom built (reinforced):

100cm Width x 30cm Depth x 25cm Height

I want to create a bit of a panoramic look&feel, mostly with small group fish.

I went to EA Ikano. They quoted me around RM400 for this reinforced custom tank. Besides the price, I was hoping if you guys/gals could perhaps advise me why I should not do this and just go for a standard size?

TQ

Hi smile.gif. Thanks for the input. Very valuable yes, didn't think of that. But your dimensions; isn't that a regular size but bigger? Not panoramic views anymore with 1.5F H+D.....

Went to a fair at PWTC a while ago (think it was some furniture fair) and there was an lfs (forgot the name) selling/promoting their custom tanks that they put away at offices and such. Was impressed by 1 tank in particular; a panoramic tank, guess it was the dimensions I mentioned. They had 1 group that were swimming in there like a ball; wonderful sight...

But still, I should consider the fillings and such yes....

Natural Aquatic World does do custom tanks too. Will go there soon, is it easy to find in Subang?

You don't have active carbon in your filter? One of the main ingredients smile.gif.

Algae initially are not a bad thing to have, all part of the balanced ecosystem in your tank. It also tells you something about your habits, like too much lights, too much food, too much waste etc.

If you don't have carbon in your filter, I suggest you add this. you can easily put it in a nylon stocking if you don't have the cover mesh, just close it with two small tie-ribs and you are good to go.

Talking about filter inserts. I am looking for filter insert packages for my AquaClear 20 (small hang on filter). Anyone knows a place where to find the filter inserts for that?
