QUOTE(faceless @ Dec 23 2010, 11:31 AM) It is a common thing in any organized society. ...since the first manager thought of giving a pay raise and extra benefits (promotions/responsibility) as a way to coax 'better' performance from his underlings

QUOTE(flight @ Feb 4 2011, 10:41 PM) I've faced this sort of lecturers in my college days. My mother had a stroke and I was having some difficulties in my studies, and I went to talk with one of the lecturers that was teaching me. She was initially very understanding, but another lecturer who didn't like me told her that I was lying to her and apparently quite a lot of alarming lies. I had to get a damn video and the medical documents to prove I wasn't making it up. These sort of f***ers have no place in the academia. This is quite perplexing, AFAIK most authorities will be satisfied with a simple letter from the hospital/doctors informing the patient's condition etc. the right way would be to report to higher powers -the dean; the less painful would be to take it in stride -that's life... If someone asks your bank book to be photocopied and distributed, you can lodge a police report. That is a criminal offence. You could even charge the person in court.
If all those means do not work, you could go to the press and ask them to publicize this case.
If you're desperate, you could even bring this to a political party such as Michael Chong of MCA or other parties. I am not condoning the politicizing of non-political issues but if it is troubling you greatly, it is worth it.
Basically, don't suffer in silence. There's always a way to get help. huh? This post has been edited by mgjg: Feb 23 2011, 10:30 PM
