I've faced this sort of lecturers in my college days. My mother had a stroke and I was having some difficulties in my studies, and I went to talk with one of the lecturers that was teaching me. She was initially very understanding, but another lecturer who didn't like me told her that I was lying to her and apparently quite a lot of alarming lies. I had to get a damn video and the medical documents to prove I wasn't making it up.

These sort of f***ers have no place in the academia.
