Make sure you get into the 'Downloading...' screen before connecting it to your PC

I think it's better if you just access the Galaxy 5 Server folder via your phone to avoid deleting anything. You can exclude Galaxy 5 Server folder to sync with your pc by using the latest rc version of dropbox here: http://forums.dropbox.com/topic.php?id=28265

QUOTE(Jaer1711 @ Feb 3 2011, 08:29 AM) Updated to Froyo. From my experience this will happen more regularly on froyo. But still does not solve my previous problem with the wifi. On some network it does not allow a reconnect, just keep disconnecting after one succesfull connection??? So confused. |

QUOTE(geekfiredog @ Feb 3 2011, 07:17 PM) Hi, just got my Galaxy 5 with Android 2.1. How do I transfer/copy/import from SIM contacts (from a very basic phone) to my Galaxy 5? The manual shows Contacts -> More -> Copy contacts, but I couldn't find the copy contacts options, what is available are Account/Send email/Import/Export/Settings/Send via bluetooth. You can also transfer your contacts by using kies. The installation cd for kies is provided. From manual (page 62) ››Copy contacts 1 In Idle mode, select . 2 Press [ ] → More → Copy contacts. 3 Select a copy option (from the phone to the SIM or USIM card or vice versa). 4 Select contacts to copy. 5 When you are finished selecting contacts, select Copy |

QUOTE(geekfiredog @ Feb 5 2011, 02:18 PM) Hi woundxp, Hey there, thanks for the response. I've just installed and updated Kies, but I couldn't find any options to copy/extract the contacts info from my existing SIM card. All the contacts info are available in my SIM only, not in any other places (outlook, google a/c, PC, SD card and etc). The only apps that I found is SIM2Phone, but looks like the link is broken or the apps is no longer available. Still looking for a way to extract the contact info instead of retype all the contacts again. After you connect your phone with Kies, click on the Contacts icon from the bottom menu/dockbar from the Kies software. Then from the Contacts windows on the upper side click on the 'Select another mobile phone' and select the ones with /SIM1. From there you just need to Save to PC and from the saved contacts you can transfer it back to device. Well that's how I did it. Hope this helps. |
