QUOTE(bestsane @ Dec 24 2010, 04:44 PM)
Hi there folks!

I've got a problem. My android clock is lagging. For this whole week, I woke up late and reached office late because my alarm (default android alarm) didn't sound.

I set my alarm at 6.48am. It's supposed to sound at 6.48am, but it doesn't sound at 6.48am. This is because when I wake up (without the aid from my alarm), let's say at 7.15am, when I press the Power/End key (below the Google Search key), it shows the time when I last played around with my phone (probably the night earlier at 11.00pm). Then it quickly synchronizes with the real (current & present) time, and thus sounding the alarm (because the real time has gone beyond 6.48am).

So this means while the phone is idling (when the screen goes blank), the android clock is not ticking, thus skipping the alarm time set by myself at 6.48am.
Anyone that can help me please................................!!

yep discuss about this many times already. The best way to adress this issue is just to download other alarm apps at the marrket, you got to experiment with will work at your phone. I use alarm clock plus v1, the b2 dosent seem to work. Thought I'm using froyo now, I do think this bug has already fixed in froyo

what is this supposed to mean? i tried plug in/out few times the USB cable, but still no changes. however in Kies i can backup the data to PC
flawlessly. pls help me guys  sad.gif

I think there something is interfering with your usb connection, window auto installer, kies, various. Try to shutdown any program that will intefior with usb connection. Make sure before you flash there is a yellow box under the port you use in the odin software

ok now the connection problem has been solved. now the prob arise in getting the froyo in. after following the instructions (including hard reset) my G5 keeps rebooting in normal 2.1 ( i guess) because the settting menu is still in monotones and the "about phone' still displays 2.1 -update1..

if this keep going on i might just wait for original release..sigh

Yep your failed flashing or your flashed the wrong firmware

Simply Lockscreen app.

Attention to ppl who is still in eclair/original firmware. There a major bug on the pattern lock. This bug do not just effect g5 but all android phone. So be cautios of your pattern lock. Dont make complex pattern that you forget letter and do play the game of guessing your pattern. You might end up lock up your phone completely!! Said this from personal experaince.

fully charge @ 100% after ~3 hours charging.

immediately after unplug, straight drop to 97%. seems like unofficial froyo really makan battery alot. now i use 18-24 hours, battery kong already. shocking.gif

Maybe you use too many background apps. do you turn on your 3g, thought 3 hour is actually not enough usually around 6 hours to fully recharge.

ok, will try on next recharge. usually reach 99% in 2 hours, but to become 100% need another 1 hour. hmm.gif

3g on, i heard if off, cannot receive sms? unsure.gif

Your 3g is on, that's why your battery run out fast. g5 has a lot of background sync apps, they will download and upload stuff without you knowing. IS normal for your battery to run off fast when your 3g is on

Yea, it's a really good budget Android phone. I am also very happy with mine. After you configure your GPS, download GPS Status from the Android Market. It will help you lock on.
But, first thing you will need is Advanced Task Killer. This phone will really drain your battery fast. ATK will help you kill apps that are running in the background. Trust me, there are always apps running in the background that will consume your battery  doh.gif

Only waiting for the official Froyo release rclxms.gif

Added on January 4, 2011, 10:59 amAs for backgrounds/wallpaper, the Honeycomb one is really nice. Thx

I use Background App, not sure where I got it from, either AppPlanet or Android Market. Thats a real useful app. Browse tons of very nice wallpapers. I use it often. You can choose to set the pic as background instantly or download the background to your phone and set it later  thumbup.gif

Hihih, I beg to differ, for eclair, I would not recomande to install any task killer since it will disturb many application. Many bug such as alarm not activated and time widget stop cause of this.

QUOTE(roadie @ Jan 4 2011, 04:22 PM)
any idea why i get no search results for certain apps, esp google apps. ive tried search from market and from browser. i get this message "there are no matches in android market for the search"
*
Many games are filtered automatically by the google market apps since our screen is not big enough. Then the google filter again according to with apps are made avalaible to malaysia by its developer. Of course paid apps are not avalaible because of this. One way to go around this is to install market access apps which require your phone to be rooted.

QUOTE(zam_changloon @ Jan 4 2011, 05:04 PM)
Erkkk... How to OFF 3G? If my 3G is on, will it cost me coz my prepaid keep decreasing... Other than 3G, what are the reasons my credit decreasing? TQ...
*
If you are using the original firmware then the of 3g will be under the network setting. If you are using froyo, then long press the off button. Note that the capability of turning of 3g is not avalabile to all firmware type

Off topic a bit

I really need a tablet pc now, cause have to travel a lot and still do some work. And I have to buy it fast.
the honeycomb look really really cool, but will not be released yet and biggest concern using android tablet is that it cannot connect to vga output to do presentation.
