hey guys, tnx for the dropbox invite.
as for the stable release, i see it is the i5500 version.
does this mean no asian language support? I am using the i5500 from samfirmware now and it does not support thai language, which is highly irritating as i cant sms my clients now.

also my mobile network does not work, clicking to switch it on does not do anything, this might also be related to the i5500L south american built.

hope you guys got answers, sorry if I ask something that is already explained in here.

ok so it is still the i5500 version of Froyo.
I will try to flash, to fix the battery problem though.

Anyone has any idea when samsung comes with the i5503 versions?

I have been talking to Samsung Thailand.
They are not willing to give an exact date yet, however they informed me that Froyo 2.2 will be out soon for the i5503 models of the Galaxy 5

that makes me happy, finally, thai language support and hopefully a working mobile connection.

i just flashed it, but somehow i did not get the new loader and background etc.
i also still have all the apps in the menu that are gone in the movie.
have i dont something wrong?

I tried it again.
did the following:
1. factory reset
2. hard reset
3. start in downloading mode.
4. start flashing - should auto reboot and protect ops be checked?
5. at around 3 minutes it restarts the phone and asks me to connect through kies or umps only?
6. i do nothing untill odin tells me it is finished.
7, i unplug and do another hard reset.
8 phone is as normal firmware including all samsung apps.

tnx will download and try, and report back when finished.
to my question, do i need to check "protect ops" "auto reboot"

and is it normal that the device restarts at 3 minutes and then asks if i want to connect through kies (on the phone)

not sure what ext2 mean.
but i redownloaded the rom from the other thread and it works good now.
just still cant get my mobile networking to work.
i dont know my apn settings, and as far as i know there were none on the original firmware.

you dont need to use sdk tools, just do a factory reset and then a hard reset on the phone and all works fine for me.

who is deleting files from dropbox?? just lost over 80 of them

anybody got thailand maps for ndrive or papago?
and anyone can tell me how to install papago or send me a copy of ndrive,
i dont seem to get it to work

Also papago drains so much battery, anybody has a fix for this?



Found it: http://www.papagomap.com/
all maps for all sea countries.
Download all files, unrar
Dont pay attention to the difference in main folder name or the maganaviser / organic / photo / save folders.
Copy the folders in the map folder to the map folder in your papago (NaviSEA) folder.
copy the folders in the sound folder (if you would like extra languages like thai) that you dont have yet.
in the main navith folder (or other name if other country is selected) the files you dont have yet, do not overwrite already existing files (not sure if this will mess up the app)

unplug phone, restart papago and there you go, thai maps

only battery drainage is now still an issue
