It depends on user actually. If u really wan a damn gd gps then better go for garmin phone. Alot of us are just casual user of gps and its not in must have list on phones dat v cant live without. Yeah one can hv impressive gps on garmin but will need to sacrifice.when it comes to overall performance. So it all depends

Hello. First of all, what firmware do u use? Ive read somewhere that the european firmware has faster gps lock compared to asian one. As from my experience, while using eclair/froyo stock, im having difficulty to lock the satellite. It only works with a-gps enabled. But after upgrading to darky v5.x above, which uses xxjpu/jpx/jpy based fimware, i found that it actually fixed the gps! No need to use a-gps anymore with an accuracy of 5m with 8 or more gps lock in!
1. Well, if u dont enable the a-gps, it would be very unlikely to get lock! I've tested mine and it works inside shopping mall!
2. To me, a cold start normally takes longer time. 120sec is quite ok to me. Normally mine takes around 1min to get gps lock (without a-gps, mind u).
3. Its true. Sometimes it gets confused when there is two or more junctions.
Well, ive never heard any hp got gps fix less than 10sec. Mind telling me what hp is that?? Even my trusted garmin nuvi 1460 takes 30sec+- to get fix.

At the end of the day, it would be useful to have a gps built in inside our hp. Although it cant replaced a standalone gps, it still usable. And i find it sufficient enough to cater my day travel. If u dont find it useful, u might one to invest a external bluetooth gps to pair with your hp.

get GPS Status .... on ur data and gps sensors ... get a lock then proceed to ur papago
hmm, maybe odin version different? i have read b4 last time someone used different odin version and failed ... cant confirm though ...

I don't think it works on PapagoX5. However it works on Aura.

alas, it's a worth try but of coz, DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!

GPS issue doesn't seems to affect my SGS though. Just tried run the LBS test mode inside my room and get a locked within 12s with 6 satellites and 15m accuracy. Overall I felt GPS lock faster after I use speedmod..
