QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Dec 6 2011, 04:16 AM) to each his own. in fact i've read myself. though: It is quite impossible for one not to compare the Fate/ZERO novel to the anime though I do agree with you on the actually spoilering spoilers part. Reason being ZERO rapes even more so that Night so yeah. Also, because of the despair caused by the Night anime adaptation, fans raged day and night for well . . . . some are still raging so imagine that. In before Nasuverse relations and shitty magical rin girls and magical arcuied girls. Though it seems Brolander's the only thing going on around in here. Not very Berserk now are we?

Depends. Since I cbb to play Skyrim, I don't even know about dragons crashing about randomly.
OT: Really now? Rape scene's the only reason you watch this? How bout you just sparingly go play some NTR games or VNs or something? I'm serious . . . . . . maybe.

Not surprising. I've a friend who just found out what a tsundere is yesterday when she texted me. Not everyone's an otaku 150%

Fyi, otaku doesn't even mean you breathe, eat, sleep and die anime/manga. Otakus actually means that someone is very passionate about something. Just because the term got spread to USA via anime dubbing, people misinterpreted it to be the Jap version of 'geeks' or something.
Btw, you don't have to spend every single minute in your life watching anime or reading manga to be called an otaku.

QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Dec 9 2011, 01:14 AM) QUOTE(radkliler @ Dec 9 2011, 01:54 AM) Except that "otaku" IS the Japanese word for geeks or nerds? Seriously, "otaku" means that you are so engross in something, that it borders on dangerous obsession. Dude, read this la. It's a second-person pronoun. Readers adapted as a term only. The actual meaning is still one who has an above average interest in something. Even the 'otakus' worry about the term getting known as extreme until the verge of dying. Seriously, perverse usage of the word has given it a notorious image. Even that William Gibson person made otaku look cooler thatn what the society has on otakus nowadays. Sometimes they even get confused and mixed-up between otaku and NEETs. Just like today when mention Korea sure some boy band like 2PM or something come up. Or when mention Japan, Bleach or Naruto come up. Why? Because terms got mixed up in translations and bla bla bla. Sorry for digression btw. Still waiting for next few episodes before the big break.

Smh. I was talking about the original definitions and you are talking about modern usage. 2 different things. But yes you are correct then. I admit my ineptness.
