It is a huge different on OS5 and OS6...
*
yes agreed. somehow the trackpad for 9300 is not as smooth compared to 8520. others, its great. if only they improved the camera specs sweat.gif

dickson - does brighstar cover the warranty if my trackpad might be faulty? it works, but not smooth at all even though is at 7 or 8 or 9. i find it troublesome using it with my left hand. i had to use my fingertip and slide it up using my right hand.

thanks, did not upgrade to .461 as desktop manager don't have it on yesterday, so I just leave it, upgrading BB is not like iPhone and Symbian

But I think there is an OTA update in the BlackBerry, but it always say you have the latest version  laugh.gif
*
yeah same here. if there's no updates from the desktop manager i usually wont download it. its safer to just let the DM to update the phone for u. tongue.gif

All Official are released by RIM there are no difference between download and Desktop Version.. Just difference in method of updating...
*
yeah i know. some ppl just feel safer to let the DM do the updates.. cause we're not really good and downloading it ourself..deleting the vendor file etc etc.. smile.gif

How come... That is too long, I though Brighstar have new management and technician in Malaysia now... You didnt complaint said you got no phone to use???
*
they told me they will give me a spare phone bb 8520.. i was shocked also when they told me 1 month. not sure if i should go ahead or should i wait a little while more? maybe during the time when they can fix for me quick without needing to send to singapore. my phone is only 3 months old.. still can claim anytime within the 18 months right?

Just send my bb curve 3g to brighstar because of the trackpad not sensitive when scrolling up, I wasted 1 hour for the repair but at last, the problem is still there, btw they had downgrade my OS6 to OS5, just speechless ==''
*
hi,same here. well apparently its not the problem. curve 3g trackpad is different now compared to curve 8520. u have to use ur fingertip to scroll up. its just the way its designed. but if can buy another trackpad to replace this current one,i wouldnt mind.

yeah they had to reformat, so therefore you will get back the os5. but i updated it to os6, and installed all my apps again. icon_rolleyes.gif

Thanks bro. No wonder my wife's curve 3G is different from mine. One more question, to install new OS we need to do it using desktop mnager rite? Is it the same desktop manager as given in the dvd in the box?
*
hmm you can download the latest version online, even with the one in the cd, you have to update that one first. so i suggest u just download straight from the internet. thumbup.gif yes, use the Desktop manager to install it for you. smile.gif

Cannot just subscribe BIS service RM10 alone? Must together with RM68?

TQ
*
yeah must pay together. same with maxis and celcom,im sure. my current maxis plan is rm40 (bis service) + rm50 (family plan)..

btw i wanna ask, is it just me, or does anyone else think that curve 3g camera is better than 8520? blink.gif

*
yeah u have to change your normal internet plan to BIS service.. both are different.. therefore you might need to pay more for the bis.. rclxms.gif

It's the same. I own both the 3G and 8520 3 days ago and thought of the same thing. Tested and it is indeed very identical in terms of image quality.
seriously? my pictures taken on my 3g is so much better than my 8520.. wouldnt be too sure.. could be the lighting position or something

on the left is my curve 3g cam. right is 8520.

Select your home hub network from the list and then the pop up will appear asking you about the PIN. If you scroll down and select 'Cancel' you should be able to enter your normal password.
