i found one thing weird, in B spec i race the mazda roadster 4 hour endurance, i get first place and my reward is only 64k, while i get first place in american cup indy circuit i get 110k in B spec, shouldn't endurance give more reward since we spend so much time playing it

even the prize car also crap

Doing the tsukuba 9H endurance now, 3hours into the race. All 4 drivers no more strength. Pitting strategy 10%. Each driver pit after every 1 lap  doh.gif . Hav to off pit strategy, and babysit them sweat.gif
Sumore the pit stop got no crew. Tyres changed and car refuelled automatically.  rclxub.gif

i notice only tsukuba circuit got no pit crew but other place got, is it that pit lane too small? laugh.gif

QUOTE(samowong @ Jan 19 2011, 03:16 PM)
yup. after babysit them for a while n off pit strategy, realize they oni pit when tyres worn out/fuel low, so giv chance for other drivers to rest.
i memang use FGT pun. 100 laps ahead of 2nd car  rclxms.gif  Another thing i notice, my FGT is actually dirty after 538 laps of tsukuba. cool  smile.gif

so need to get car wash?

it will drive slower while cornering compare to full strength, and lap time greatly increase

I'm getting abit confused with the LSD settings, can someone clarify regarding:

1.Initial
2.Acceleration
3.Braking

Higher value means Stronger the LSD setting, or higher the difference between 2 wheels allowed (meaning lower value LSD kick in earlier)?

Can someone give example of settings for:

FF car want more oversteer.

FR car want more understeer.

All this while I've been setting the FR cars on high values as I though it will make it less wheel spin.
*
initial - how much wheel spin is there to activate the LSD, the higher the number, the more sensitive the LSD will be, the lower it is the lower the sensitivity

acceleration - sensitivity of the LSD during acceleration, useful for cornering, if the car tend to oversteer while cornering, then increase the acceleration LSD

braking - sensitivity of LSD during braking, the higher it is the more stable your car will be during braking, but that does not prevent you from wheel lock, it just prevent your car from oversteer during braking.

in another words, higher LSD means bias to understeer, lower LSD bias to oversteer

from my own thinking, LSD make sure both wheels turn at the same speed, and the sensitivity determine how much is the variation between left and right wheels, which mean the LSD will lower the rotation speed of the outside wheel during cornering to make sure both wheel spin at the same speed, if outside wheel turn slower, this will caused understeer if it is set to too sensitive.

if you off the LSD, you will find that enter corner is easier for some car, especially 4WD, if you set all LSD to full, you will notice the car can hardly turn

normally i will set initial LSD to 15, acceleration to 50 for some car, braking to 30

Is there really bad making the ride height close to min? I see most guides stop at -10 to -15 when they can go -25 to -30. I though lower the better, at least on race tracks, unless the bottom touches the ground?

And most players set the spring rate between 7 to 12 which is quite low compare to max allowed.

Also am curious because i hear for understeer/oversteer in real life you only need to work on either the camber or toe, but in GT5 it seems we have to work on both?
*
not really bad making ride height as low as possible, i always did that, if you see your car bottom out (spark coming from the bottom of the car during braking or acceleration) then you better increase the ride height by a bit, bottom out is most noticeable from nascar

we dont set spring rate to max because this will cause the overall suspension system to be too stiff, in daily driving of coz we will want stiffer suspension for better cornering and stability, but too much will cause the car move hard to move and cause you to have trouble entering corner, stiffer suspension give better steering respond and lesser body roll, if too stiff then your braking will be affected, and might cause understeer during corner.

in GT5, understeer and oversteer is not only need to work on camber and toe, in fact, camber and toe give too insignificant effect compare to damper settings, try work on the damper compression and damper extension first.

in most situation, most cars, most races, i recommend toe in for both front and rear wheel

I like to set the ride low, but the lower the height the stronger the spring rate needs to be, too strong and the car starts to sway away in uneven surface, from the menu description it says stronger spring rate needs softer rollbars, i'm not too sure how roll bar effects the car as a whole other than oversteer & understeer, sometimes i find roll bar too stiff it tends to roll more over.

There's a few cars i'm still having problem with even after setting LSD high up and rear toe to high +ve, like Silvia 240RS, RUF Yellow Bird (this car is impossible...), Blitz Skyline R34, Lotus 119R.
*
lower ride height stiffer suspension so that your car wont bottom out when cornering, roll bat just prevent roll, to much roll will cause the car hard to steer

i see RUF is all RR layout, so i just give up on getting one, MR layout is already hard to handle, dont say RR

skyline R34 is great car, but handling is bad and the car weight is still heavy even after all the lighten mod.

try pagani zonda, that's even worst
