Plug in a USB device into your PS3.go to Save Data Utility..and then you should be able to see a new device for you to click on./...but dont click on that yet.
Go locate your GT5 save file...which has the DAYS, CR, And your current car that you are driving.
Click triangle on it, and then select copy. It will ask where you want to copy to....if you got other PS3 accounts in it, it will pop out. Other than that, it will show your external memory device.
Click copy to that device, and voila, you are done. Successfully backed up your save file.
Btw, if you want to do trade, always remember to DELETE the save data in your PS3 first before COPYING it back into the PS3 from your memory device.
Somehow, if you overwrite from memory device, the data will not change as how it is before trading. Meaning, you might lose your car if you do an overwrite copy.
