Actually if it's me I will just buy a ready made setup (although the price is not wise/ very not wise, compared to self build model) such as Acer L3600- compact, complete with antenna port & remote, perfect for Windows Media Center.

Anyway, seems this is WRONG SECTION~

I was in your shoe once. Maybe my spec below in signature could help. If you do not GC, much more small case could do the job. Good power for the price plus HDMI, around 1.5k should give you a decent HTPC.

Should be ok but depend on board and case. Which form factor you are going into?

MATX? MITX?

They are board size in general. You have more PCI-E slot for bigger board, smaller board reduce space. You can go full ATX size for typical CPU, but some people prefer smaller footprint for HTPC. Refer here.

if you are interested, look at my signature. I have a mini pc/server for sale. Just add a large size hdd and you are good to go. It's a dualcore atom proc, so it should be able to handle high quality videos.

Hmm, your price sounds interesting low; Athlon II X2 255 was selling for ~RM230 over here (east malaysia) a week ago when I was looking for hardwares sad.gif
I also bought an Asus M4N68T-M last few weeks for my friend, but I did not recall there is a HDMI port onboard though, as TS request for HDMI port.
Probably add another cheap graphic card will do, since many budget graphic card today also comes with HDMI output port; or looks for a mobo with HDMI onboard.

Watching streaming movies need only low spec PC but very good internet connection. Use the budget price on internet subscriptions than high spec PC.
