Basically, my situation is such as

I previously have had an account which i have given to my friend.
So now, up to Wotlk is installed on my computer.

My question is, how do i re-insert a new cdkey into the pre-installed wotlk?

Do i have to delete and reinstall with the cds ?

log onto battle net and key into your cd key... ...and tada......you can play wotlk

one more question if you dont mind,
i have to purchase all the cd-keys from battlechest --> wotlk --> cata ?

yes...required core+all expansions to play cata.

nah man you have to delete your whole wow folder to play it just reinstall form your cata cd

As long as you have an account with the relevant CD-Keys attached to it, you can download the client from Blizzard, or you can copy paste the client folder from a friend.
