Unfortunately, only way according to my search is to jailbreak iPad in order to tether to Blackberry.
Wifi teethering, Ipad wifi only or Ipad Wifi+3G

Apparently the other method to tether iPad to Blackberry is to use this device (no jailbreak required).
Cradlepoint Personal Wi-fi Hot Spot It cost about USD100. Can't find anybody who supplies this in Malaysia. |

Never regretted it as it allow me to things like multi-tasking and running apps in background which is not possible before ios 4.2.1Unfortunately, only way according to my search is to jailbreak iPad in order to tether to Blackberry. So far i have not notice any problem with jb and you won't notice any diiference at all. Btw, jb is already legal in US. Well, i have a iPhone 3GS with unlimited data, having an iPad with 3G doesnt really make a lot of sense, does it? I bought a 32Gb Wifi version.I see some of you rather 64gb than a 16gb with gb. Get 3g version else why ipad, ipad wifi might aswell get a notebook. Some people never take their iPad out of their house/workplace because it doesn't serve their purpose. Not everyone has the same purpose with the iPad. Also, some people with multiple gadgets (phone, laptop, ipad, etc) might benefit having a mifi instead of having the 3G sim card stuck at the iPad. That's impractical portability. I hope that helps you understand iPad wifi better. This post has been edited by pmsoo: Jan 5 2011, 02:40 PM |

Don't really wanna pay for data on my phone and on iPad separately, another fixed monthly expense for data. |

I never use ipad at home, I only bring it to work. At home me and my wife either use desktop or netbook or notebook. We never shutdown our computer it's always on doing something(torrent). I never thought people would buy ipad for home use, kind of waste, why not add some money get MBA? |

People don't buy iPad just to use at home. People buy iPad for mobility and it so happen that its great for home use too...like doing a big job in the toilet, watching kamasutra while making love etc. |

QUOTE(ahK @ Jan 10 2011, 09:20 AM) The question is do ipad really need a usb port? One have to know that the iPad can only run software from applestore in ipa format. You cannot just put in any .exe and install in the iPad and make it work. But on the other hand, the ipad can open most of the popular file eg, pdf, words, photo, mp3 etc. Most of these files format can only be transfer to the ipad via iTunes at the moment. Will a USB port make it a lot easier to transfer these files? Certainly yes, but is there other way around it? I have been fiddling around with a software call "Dropbox" for the ipad. It gives you like 2Gb online storage with a bunch of extra features. Basically what i do is put my files like pdf, jpg etc into dropbox on my pc and I can later open it on my iPad anywhere(internet connection required offcourse). So i don't really need a USB port to attach to my ipad to transfer files into it. In the end, iPad is a simple device that don't carry the excess baggage it doesn't need. Use the ipad for what it is made for and you won't be disappointed. |
