QUOTE(8tvt @ Jan 11 2011, 09:23 AM) QUOTE(ahpingko @ Jan 11 2011, 09:26 AM) Macro lens get better magnification and allow you go closer. Here's mine on Raynox DCR250 attached to Minolta 50mm f/1.7 (with 50% crop in post processing).![]() |

fansoption: I always use f/13 for macro shots. Here's one more for you.
![]() zstan: Wow, that's very costly to fix... what needs to be replaced? Go buy Alpha 580, it rocks! lol |

fansoption: Smart! Yes, it's the Minolta 50mm f/1.7 with DCR-250. Can't get close enough so I had to do a 20-30% crop. It's awesome to have high 16 megapixel machine, I can crop more without loosing much details
If not mistaken, this was shot with the settings of f/13, 1/160s, ISO200, Flash power 1/8. |

zstan: Darn... if I am in your shoes, I will use 50mm all the way with the camera for the time being until I got mullah for new camera. Perhaps a second hand Alpha 550 if I had the budget (by selling low usage lens).
8tvt: LOL! That's because I cheated! I have to crop photo. Only my 50mm can use Raynox, my 17-35 and 18-250 can't use. |

zstan: Maybe hunt for 7D? Konica Minolta 7D, not the Canon 7D. I believe it's RM 500 - 700 range. It's a real good camera, more fun to play than A700. Perhaps that can be kept as collection and replacement for A300. Not to mention, the ISO performance of 7D is better than A300 IMO.
fansoption: Those are my favorite setting when doing macro... always f/13, 1/160s, ISO is either 200 - 400, flash power varies (first two setting stick, only change the last two to suit the environment) cjlai: Eh? These are the two shot attached with Raynox + Cosina combination right? This post has been edited by wha7ever: Jan 11 2011, 09:14 PM |
