Hey guys, got an urgent question here.

Sold my 55200 just now, the seller tested everything was okay. But 10 mins ago, he called and said the lens not stopping down.

Shoot F4, bright... Shoot F11, bright also... Shoot F22, still bright.

Any advice on how it is like that? I tested the lens before I COD today, it was perfect.

He was shooting at ISO 800. But that's not the issue, the issue now is F4, F11, F22 all same brightness, like the aperture never close fully.

But when tested before I COD, and when he was dealing with me, all okay.

Btw, he mounted the 55200 on his NEX3 during the COD just now with a 3rd party adaptor.

Could it be that which spoiled the lens?

Yes, the adaptor for Alpa lens.

The buyer wasnt using an original Sony adaptor on his NEX, it was 3rd party adaptor which has a aperture ring to change the lens aperture, not controlled by the camera.

i think the culprit is his adapter..... check the lens on your camera. if everything works fine, then definitely his adapter's issue. not your problem.

Codyx: Your friend broke it, your friend should pay.

cassplayer: Could be. Also if your friend is using a third-party adapter, then the body cannot set the aperture, and you need to adjust the aperture on the adapter itself.
*
Could it be the adaptor which spoilt the lens?

Cause that was on his NEX3, but then when mounted on his a550 it shoot "wide open" all the time.

I just hope it's a mistake because I stated no warranty provided. ohmy.gif

Yeah the adaptor has the aperture ring on it to change the aperture value. It's not an ori adaptor though.

And when he said all the photos same outcome, he was using it on his a550, not the NEX3

Met up with the buyer, the lens blade isn't closing after I slide the lever to wide open... I think its the spring which is spoilt... Sifu's, how much would it cost too fix the spring?

I gave the buyer a RM50 rebate.

Bring a backpack when carrying 2 bodies. I tried stuffing 2 bodies + lens + flashes in my 7MDH.

The bag was so heavy my shoulder felt sore for the next 2-3 days.

Yeap, not only kill the lighting. We're not allowed to use flash in concerts, blind the artist.

And, with/without flash, the lens still has very heavy CA. But cannot complain for a cheap lens.
