i bought my flash and 50mm after a year knowing the pros and cons of my body...no point having all the bells and whistles if the basic aperture, shutterspeed and iso setting you havent grasp yet...

I don't even know what iso, aperture, and flash to begin with... and I'm one of the student who took photography for 1 semester ... believe or not.. I don't even know my dslr can use a lot of other lenses and external flash when I'm playing with my first dslr

but heck that don't stop me from getting nice pictures for my subject and also for my personal usage and yes, my lecturers are strict on his student means "always use manual setting including focus no matter what the condition is or I'll check on the computer and if I find 1 setting using auto, I will automatically fail your subject" good, huh?
after 1 month of usage, already can figure out what those camera settings can do and explore more from there. Though people would call this a fool way to learn.. I'd say I can remember better.. if I explore myself... and if one takes 1 year to learn camera settings.... then I'd say you're a slow learner... digital are always easy and made easy for the consumer to be self learning.
and fyi, 50mm and flash is a must have for most of the people, you don't have to wait till you're master with your camera because that would be a waste of time... instead.. why not just buy and experiment more. Unless.. theres no money to spend on, that I can understand
